Yes if he finishes the job this year it'll say a TON about him as a driver. He's already top 10 all time. Winning this season with the manufacturer disadvantage might just make him top 5.

I'll never forget the years when he was driving the 42 for Gnassi having no business being as good as he was but he would just ride inches from the wall around every 1.5 mile track and turn it into top 10s.

Yep. It goes the other way too. Super star equipment turns average drivers into very good ones. Look at Briscoe. He was below average driving for SHR. Now he's a championship caliber driver in JGR stuff.

I would love to see SVG in better stuff with better tech help. He's starting to get ovals sorted out. If he had access to all the tech data (not just the equipment but the data, set ups, sons, etc) in a top end shop, look out.

I'll be curious to see what Zilich does in the 48. And Hocevar in a top end ride is scary.

Larson is screwed today. He's buried behind 9 Toyotas and Fords plus 2 of his own teammates.

Hopefully, Larson can get to Top 14 at the stage break and then top 10 for some stage points in Stage 2, but he'll have his lead halved most likely today

Larson and Hamlin both gambling. I get Larson but Hamlin is rolling dice.

Blaney and his pit crew continue to lose points.

I wouldn't have gonna for 2 tires there. The play was 4 tires then 2 tires at the stage break unless the plan was to take a major change during the stage break. Now, Larson's behind the eight ball again. He'd be restarting 15th or so instead of in the 20s and better position to maximize finishing points.

Larson the caution he was looking for

He was the statistical best racer at this track of all the guys in the chase. And he's going to have the worst finish of his career.

Blaney would be running away with a championship if he had a pit crew.

NASCAR as a sport won today. They have a fight to the end now.

I didn't like this Chase format when it was first announced. But damn! It's starting to look like a half a dozen drivers will take a chance to win it all into the last race of the year.
