I can remember years when one OEM would make a body change and it would be uncompetitive. So much so that NASCAR would make rules mods specific to one OEM or the other to even out the competition.

Interesting they are making no overtures here.

It probably has to do with the best Toyota being owned by Michael Jordan.

I have been following the sport long enough to remember when TNN covered some races. ESPN's 1990s coverage set the standard, but I will still take Eli Gold and Buddy Baker over Mike Joy and Darrell Waltrip

Chevy teams are still adjusting to the new body release. Same thing happened to Toyotas a couple years ago. Hopefully Chevy learns enough to catch up during the back half of the year.

Also get rid of this generation of car.

I love this car for what it's done for mile and a halves, and equally loathe it for what it's turned road courses and short tracks into.

Would love to see them figure out how to put a four speed transmission in it for short tracks.

Part of the road course attraction in NASCAR before the Next Gen car was big heavy stock cars swanging and banging around the twisties. Now the car acts more like a GT car and it's not as susceptible to the things that made the prior car entertaining on those circuits.

For short tracks that used to reward those who could maintain momentum and not bleed speed, now if you screw up you just grab another gear and get back to speed.

They just played loose and fast with standard lighting rules.

No kidding we're used to soccer rules

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if Suarez's call to get 2 tires with the rain gets him the win.

That 30 min rule is pretty much with every sport. Cities and schools all use it for all of their fields.

This even took the broadcast guys by surprise.

Pretty good race. The Toyotas have something the other manufacturers don't. The Fords are lacking something.

The results may not show it, but I think Bell might be the best Toyota driver.
