Yeah, the 3 Stooges theme was appropriate - the Wild teammates tripped each other.

This has been one of the absolute worst refereed playoff games I've ever seen.

Yeah, not the preferred outcome.
Wild outhustled Dallas for decent swaths of this one and were rewarded with some good puck luck at times as a result.
Fairly clean game with few "playoff penalties" and a few softies called- with Minnesota capitalizing and Dallas not.

And you have to give Wallstedt credit in net, great awareness and even better positioning.

Oh well, no one expected a sweep.

We never win Game 1. We'll figure it out.

Really poor effort tonight all around. Sometimes you need your goaltender to bail you out until the team finds its game.

Unfortunately, Otter was just as bad as everyone else.

Hopefully, it's just a typical Stars game one and they will bounce back.

Itter wasn't terrible, but he wasn't good either. 6 goals, 1 open netter. So 5. 1 was a bad luck break. 1 was bad defense. Other three were poor reaction or just plan bad positioning on top of bad defense.

The team obviously played terribly in front of him and that's why they lost.

I would've liked to see him make the save on that angle from Kaprizov. That play was started by Rantanen's low effort though. That goal was the killer tonight.

He got caught leaning on the 5th goal.

Neither goal is terrible to give up, but he's paid to make the those saves.

You could argue that he could've gotten over better on the 4th goal, but I'd put that more on losing the battle on the side of the net.

Wallstedt made the saves when tested by Benn and Wyatt.

Well, made it back from the MIL's party and watched that crappy game. That looked like a mid regular season effort game from the Stars. Only saw playoff level intensity for about 5 minutes after Robo's pp goal. Very disappointing.

I am really worried that the Stars dont have the "oomph" to prevail against the Wild. Roope coming back is not going to save us if the D isn't good. I am really unsure about Tyler Myers.

I also feel like Rantanen was way off his game last night. He was always 6 inches from where he needed to be. Could be because the wild had him too covered but he was just off.

Can't wait for game 2!!

Yeah Rantanen looked off all night. Just couldn't find his groove I guess.

Good news is he doesn't have many of those so I'm guessing he comes out strong in game 2.

Crazy how when you lose how quickly you want the next game to be here. Can't wait for tomorrow night.

Rantanen hasn't seemed himself since the Olympic break.

Would not be surprised if Myers comes out. He also has not looked it since he came out and was injured. Would also think Erne comes out and Bunting comes in. Luds said it best in the post game that Bunting probably gets to the correct area a step quicker than Erne.

I agree, I feel like Bunting has assimilated with more Stars "game sense" than Meyers.

I also think that Lunqvist is too undersized for this match-up.

Gulatzan has never won a playoff series as a head coach. I wish Deboer was behind the bench. Our roster has too many nice guys that are okay with mediocrity. They need a ***** in their ear.

Yes he was injured and may still be dealing with the after effects.

Still doesn't excuse him on his lazy play on that Kaprizov goal. I hope the coaches said something to him on that one.

Absolutely ridiculous to just be farting around in the offensive zone while their best player is standing wide open at your blue line.

Allowed Kaprizov to skate further down in position all alone.

So many frustrating lack of effort plays yesterday. Even Blackwell got caught not skating and it allowed goals to be scored on the power play. Blackwell's one job is giving max effort.

It's annoying that this team always needs a wake up call for the playoffs. Hopefully, they'll get it turned around, but this isn't the same Minnesota team from the past.

Gully came out today and said Hintz won't be available for game 3. There's also rumors swirling he hasn't even been skating much behind the scenes or with the team.

Brackets lock at 6 pm!!! TBH the only pairing I am unsure about is Dallas vs Wild. I know we can come back from losing game 1 but I am not sure we can beat this Wild team. I hate being a doomer!

You're not being a doomer. Just sharing your realistic opinion. We can win this series but it's going to be a war and perhaps the toughest series we've had in a while. This isn't your typical Minnesota Wild. This group is tough, stubborn, has good goal-tending, but now also has elite skill all over the ice. They skated circles around us on Saturday, especially Quinn Hughes who was supposed to be sick.

We still have 3 participants in the league who have not assigned a completed bracket to the league. Please do so by 6 PM tonight!
