That's awesome!!! I assumed they were a club team this whole time. I guess they're able to bypass NCAA Title IX rules by playing in the ACHA? Admittedly, I don't know very much regarding collegiate hockey frameworks.

Eh...he went from 2% of the cap this year to 3.26% next year and then 3% the following year (based on cap increase projections). Read earlier that he plays more than anybody else on the PK, and he can slot up or down depending on need (preferably down, but doesn't kill you on the top two lines). Not the worst extension in my eyes.

They did give him a 6-team no trade protection for this year +2. Kind of wish we would stop handing those out, but at least it's limited and only for the first half of the contract. Probably brought his cap hit down a bit.

He's a very solid player who rarely makes mistakes amd is crucial on the PK. Good deal for a glue type guy.
