Yeah the Goggans move surprised me. I don't know how feasible having two short sprinters in the 4x400 come outdoors! Without Arnold not sure how great of a chance we'd have in the 4x400 and not sure if we have the depth to make a finals in the 4x100! So not sure if we make Dickson and Montgomery run the 100, 200, 4x1, 4x4.

I had no clue about Arnold, wow I was really excited about Latasha Smith, but I figured we'd get one more 400 runner out of the portal. We really need Leah Burr or Tyler Lowe to step up

Re: Arnold: This is the last year that people can claim that Covid re-do where indoors in 2021 didn't count. All the Covid eligibility mess finally ends the moment indoors is over in March.

They'll have Wood, Smith, Wade and likely Dickson as the 'A' group would be my guess. Agree they need Burr or Lowe to do something.

Hats off to Jaiya Covington, she must have had a great offseason! She's the new school record holder in the event and I am so excited to see what she does the rest of the season! Somebody passed Solovev by an inch Not many schools have ran DMR's but with February close by many will start to record times for that race! Auhmad Robinson ran a crazy fast 200! There must be some speedsters who haven't ran it yet, but the 200 times are lacking! I'm blown away by the quality of the 800 field! We really need to get Whitmarsh to push Farquharson and Norris to get a top time! Lots of the other top 800 times are from talented distance loaded meets with pacers. We better be doing the same soon! Robinson hasn't looked sharp in the relays but we know he can put a strong 400 together, Solovev could easily take the one spot back and we need Jaqualon Scott to improve his time which I'm sure he will, but that event is loaded this year.

USC looks to be neck and neck with us, but they have more top ranked athletes as of now especially in the sprints and long jump. The number one 60 meter and one of the top long jumpers is JC Stevenson who's brother and sister both competed for A&M they have 9 marks in the top 16 and we have 11

First ustfccca rankings are out for the indoor season. Our men's team is ranked 1 and our women's team is ranked 7. It's important to know that these rankings are only based on event rankings, not scoring at a national meet. But it's still a good gauge to see where we stand!! Like I had mentioned in the previous post, USC is closed behind us. But with a Sam Whitmarsh and Auhmad Robinson eventually running their races, our ranking should go even higher. Tech is sitting in 3rd! Some schools still have some other guys waiting to make their debuts, but I like where we stand!

It seems like the women are over ranked to start, but as you said, these are see off of current events. It feels like the women would be lucky to finish top 15.

Yeah, Jaiya Covington's number one leading time helps, but not sure we'll have many runners qualify aside from her and Jermaisha Arnold and the relay! Possibly Latasha Smith can find a 400 spot and we will see if Jasmine Montgomery can go faster! Hopefully Winny Bii jumps even further and Sofia Iakushina can score in the multis

Yeah I was wondering if he'd turn Illinois into multis U when they hired him! We should have known that he of all people would flourish with the rise of international collegiate athletes, that's his bread and butter! He's building something there!! And yeah she finally seems healthy! We could desperately use a high jumper! The girls long jump is getting insanely competitive year after year! It might take a high 21 to make nationals

it's these little things that drive me crazy!!! They assume no one cares about these things but we do! There's so many young athletes that love this stuff and want to look up to them

We made some moves this weekend! Our 400 group solidifies itself after a strong 400 performance from others in the country! Jaqualon Scott ran better, but it's a very deep event this year. He mentioned he took a month off from training and he did show significant improvement from meet 1 so maybe he's just going to get better! Mason Mangum had a huge jump, him and John Baker stay in the top 16, with Khybah Dawson just outside the cutoff! Let's keep focus on that event! Gavin Champ moved up as well! Cooper Cawthra joined the rankings with his stellar performance! It'll be hard to maintain that with overs and distance events every week, but maybe in a faster heat he could do even more. There are still many schools that haven't don't a DMR, so hopefully we can get Cawthra anchoring a mile with some other strong legs like Whitmarsh, Farquharson, and others! We are also waiting on the 800 debut of Whitmarsh! Farquharson dropped out of the top 16, it's a very deep event! It's to be determined if he focuses on the 400 or 800, perhaps a DMR leg and 4x400! But he can still get a spot in the 800. Hopefully we see him, Whitmarsh, and Norris run a crazy time in front of the 12th man this weekend!
