She's now the 7th or 8th best collegiate heptathlete of all time!!
61 away from the Olympic Standard! And is the second best US Mark this year! Let's see if she can get it at the Trials!!! Way to go Timara
Joniar Thomas finishes 10th in the Heptathlon! Her slow start hurt her, but she could've easily been in the top 4, top 5! I believe she has one more year of eligibility!

Jermaisha Arnold ran 49.63… but the other 3 ran slower legs… first leg 9th, second leg 8th, Arnold got us to like 6th, then Wade back to 8th

I think Jermaisha Arnold has one more year of eligibility, but after her we need more help in the 400! Bailey Goggans can't stay healthy for the 800! We have two good sprinters in Dickson and Killebrew but they need help if we're gonna make a final with the sprint relay! We don't have a 400 hurdler! We did sign a solid distance recruit in Debora Cherono who could contend in the 1500, and maybe 5000 and we'll have Kennady Fontenot in the steeple and a strong freshman in San Juanita Leal along with great throwers, but we will have to attack the transfer portal desperately for runners and jumpers

im not sure but I bet there's only a handful of coaches in the entire country who would turn our facilities down… I still think Pat Henry can get one more… I feel good about the men next year, but that can easily fade if Arkansas or Florida reloadTommyBrady said:

Henry was a great coach. His time has come and gone. He should not be allowed to totally destroy the program before being replaced.
Why you want to pick on pole vaulters? I thought you liked us.
He isn't necessarily destroying it though, not like Gary Blair did for women's basketball. Men were just a few injuries away from a title. Although injuries have been a consistent theme……
The women's program though, could be in for a rude awakening next year. No more Lamara, field events become greatly questionable. We had no sprinters this year perform on the big stage. I worry for this program, not as much for the men

We're just behind the times. We were slow to adapt to the covid rules/extra covid year. Slow in transfer portal era and behind on NIL.
with our history, without facilities, with our coaching, we are right to expect a national title, with a chance at 4 each year, we have one in the past 9 years… 1 for 36… what other school has the indoor/outdoor facility we have and access to the best recruiting stateBucketrunner said:

The schools that have recently won, Arkansas, Florida, Texas all have one thing in common, they recruit well and add immediate impact transfers
50 schools on the men's side had a better 4x100 than us… some of these school are: CSUN, Albany, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Kent State, Howard, Indiana State, North Texas, Rhode Island, Collin State, Grand Canyon, New Orleans, Utah Valley, Campbell, Cal State Fullerton, UTSA, Harvard, South Dakota
All these schools had a better sprint relay than Pat Henry's 9 time National Champion Texas A&M Aggies

On the women's side if you combine our points in the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 5000, 10000, 100 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles, Steeplechase, 4x100, 4x400 it equals to a whopping…

And if you add the long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, and hammer throw you get the same result… women track and field teams get 18 scholarships, 4 individuals scored for us

And that one point is cause LSU botched a handoff in the 4x400 and didn't run their top girls
Pat Henry only gave one interview the whole weekend and said 3 sentences,
"I'm very proud of our group and I thought we competed extremely well at the NCAA Championships. Everyone who go out there on the track or in the field gave it their all. We had some things go our way and some go against us, but we were in the running for the team championships and competed right to the end."
Didn't even comment to 12thman.com about any of the individual standout performances or the individual national champions… just said we competed well and were in the running… thanks for the insight

Also shout out to Mario Sategna, he came in a gave a boost to our multi group! We got 2 great transfers in Joniar Thomas and Timara Chapman and both have flourished under him! Timara Chapman improved by over 600 points from her previous best in only one season here at Texas A&M and her PB's increased drastically! Joniar Thomas increased nearly 1000 in one year! And we also had the number one high school heptathlete not compete this year due to injury in Rylee Lydon, so she'll be a redshirt freshman next year!
We had Blake Harris Miss qualification by a few points, literally just a couple inches more in a field event and he gets in! Landon Helms improved tremendously as well! With improvement both can can come back next year and make nationals! (And with many 23/24 year olds finally graduating, cough cough Leo Neugebauer) but I'm hoping with this success, we can land an immediate multi transfer!! Who wouldn't wanna improve that much!!
