What an advantage for Georgia to avoid Florida and play at home. That said, this is a different team.

We are taking this thing at their place.

i wouldn't be surprised if SC beats florida. they got the path to do it with the top of their lineup, but aren't deep enough to battle at the bottom of the lineup.

I believe I saw Carson Branstine posing with the team for pictures after the match today.

Yes she's in them. She's a part of the team, doubt she gets a regular season ring though

My prediction for the singles lineup (I have ZERO insider knowledge):

Singles:
1 Mary
2 Nicole
3 Carson
4 Mia
5 Lulu
6 Jeanette
7/8 in the event of injury: Ellie/Daria

Doubles:
1 Mary/Mia
2 Nicole/Carson
3 Sydney/Lulu or Jeannete

Sydney has been the one mainstay in the double's lineup at line 3. She played line 1 singles and line 1 doubles for Air Force...experience matters. Fun fact, did you know that Sydney is a 2nd Lieutenant in the AF? Mam, Yesmam! Gig'em!

That's my 2 cents, which means literally nothing. Just based on observations and what I've seen throughout the season.

that's for sure the singles lineup. i also think that's the doubles lineup with 3 doubles being lulu and jennette. they've had some great matches together and sydney struggles with a strong hitting girl at line 3. i also see jennette game get significantly better since she was inserted to line 2 doubles with lulu. that team i think will go unfinished or win nearly every match going forward. Lulu is going to prey on everyone at 3 doubles. it'll be fun to watch.

I'm a huge Nicole fan and she's been awesome this year, but do we think she should be playing above Carson?

Carson's UTR is .4 higher than Nicole's and higher than any college player including Mary and Crawley. Seems it would be questioned by opposing coaches at #3. Easy to justify Mary given she's #1 in the country.

Either way, we are loaded with talent!

It will be interesting to see what happens! Does Mark knock Sydney out of doubles after she's played every match this season? That is the question to be answered to me.

Seeing Carson in these projections combined with the improvements our girls have shown this season! I'm getting excited for a deep postseason run! A roster where Mia Kupres is our number 4 and Lucciana Peres is number 5… just wow

It ain't broken! She's been playing so well, I wouldn't move her in the singles lineup. Carson has been out of college tennis for the season, I think #3 singles and #2 doubles fits the lineup. Doesn't put so much pressure on her and gives us the best #1-5 in the country

I honestly don't know. You can't replace Mary at line 1. She's the #1 ranked player in NCAA right now. (Although, watch UNC….I guarantee he will try to move Crawley to line 2 for NCAAs. He's already set the precedent early this season by playing her 2 in several matches). Nicole has been easily handling line 2 in most matches. I think the top 3 could be interchangeable and don't believe there is much any coach can say to change that fact.

No ad scoring in college tennis is, many times, an equalizer. I hate it. (But also understand its place in college tennis).

The thing with Crowley though is she has played #1 since Reese went out. There is no way that he will be able to drop her after a whole acc season at 1. He will submit a line up with Scotty at #2 but will pull her and everyone else move up in matches he knows he doesn't need to play her in singles.

The reality is Carson could play any spot within the top 3 and it be justified. Push back is going to come no matter where she plays. If she plays…

Line 1: it can be justified because that's where she played 95% of her matches before she got hurt last year. The push back would be we Mary, the #1 player in the country is not at 1.

Line 2: she can be justified here based on UTR and never playing below it. Push back would be similar to 1, where you take Nichole who is ranked #19 and 19-3 in dual match play and drop her to line 3.

Line 3: makes the most sense (overall) and is the safest against push back. There is no debate Carson is better than Mia and Carson does not have a current ITA ranking to be debated in putting her under line 1&2 positions. The push back here is obviously that she is too good to be at line 3 and she is a 2x All-American. Well, that's every other teams problem because with her on the roster the self is just full of prime steak.

But he did try last year. Crawley played 1 the entire season, and he tried to put her at 2 at NCAAs.

True, but Reese had only lost 1 match that season really and it was when she played line 1 against Alexa Noel, other than that she was undefeated and ranked #6. It was less of a debate than it would be if he tried to drop Crowley now.

Good analysis. However, reading this makes me think the pushback would be less with Carson at two than at three. Like you said, majority of Carson's matches were #1. That plus her UTR makes it hard to say she isn't higher than Nicole. And people can be mad that Nicole is #3, but she has less time at #1 and has the lower UTR.

This is what we've been building for - so much fun.

I'd love details on how the conversation began on Carson returning! Who initiated it and how long has this been an option?!?! We need an interview with her! Or well her to post on here and give us the details
