McNulty is a monster! Really hope to see him take a leadership role at the Vuelta or Giro soon. He's a great guy too. Easy to root for.

Jumbo gonna have to regroup. Vingegaard held his own solo today, but he's gonna need some more help. Not sure he can get isolated like that again.

McNulty was nails. Red numbers tomorrow for sure.

That climb up the runway gave me flashbacks of running under the train tracks by the Alamodome at the end of the SA Marathon. Not fun!

So how annoyed is Vingegaard with his team. He's been isolated again with McNulty and Pogacar again. He's got 2 riders out in the lead group when they probably should be back helping him out. The other 3 are behind him in the Peloton.

Generally its a great strategy to have guys out in front - they can always wait up for him if they need to and theyll be right there ready if a yellow jersey battle breaks out and catches up. I'd bet Jonas has been told to velcro his wheel to Pogi's and forget about anything else. If McNulty is gonna pull him so be it. Considering the team J-V has I agree there should be one other guy there with him though.

Kuss had caught up with him for a bit, but then Pogocar has gone again

Lots of early attacks. If Pogacar is the machine we thought he was early in the tour he just might break Vingegaard if he sustains it. Would be so awesome to have a really close GC race on the last stage.

Pogacar is going to turn himself inside out to win this tour. We have a slugfest on our hands.

This is a pretty common strategy for Jumbo. There were quite a few times in other grand tours where they would send Wout or Sepp up the road in the break and then have them wait up to support the GC rider. It's probably something they discussed in the team meeting prior to the stage.

This road looks like a typical county-maintained road in Texas.

Jonas now has 2 teammates in his group + VanAert ahead of him. This is exactly where they wanted to be. Also bunch of other guys still there. Any attacks are gonna get neutered quick.

That was class by Vingegaard. He could have ended the race right there, but instead he let Pogocar catch up

Lost his focus there for sure. Steered right into the gravel

amazing job by Jumbo Visma again to position the team perfectly.

The only way that Vingegaard does not win now is if he gets Covid. That would be a real shame but his highest risk.

good point. I think I saw him in a mask some after the ride today? I don't remember if he has done that every day or how often he does. Him or his team may have the same thought now.

I believe all riders have been masked during interviews. Vingegaard has definitely been masked because I always notice that it's a two strap mask and he only uses the upper strap around his head.

Jumbo Visma just owning this tour.

heh feels like borderline trolling to have your bagged green jersey winner lead out for a different dude for the flat stage win. Nice gesture for the French though.

If you're from Houston, Urban Bicycle gallery is a local shop and cervelo dealer. Guess cervelo gave them some vip passes to go to the tour. Traveled in the jumbo visma car. Part of the team to hand out water, etc.

If you go to their Instagram some cool stories

Great tour this year. Jumbo proofed to be the best team. UEA had is moments. Ineos also has their moments. They knew they they no longer have the best rider. I would like to Primos in a different team to have more gc battles.

Agreed it was a good tour. I didn't get to catch as much as in years past. I especially missed a lot of the final 4-5 stages.

Going in I was kinda pulling for Mathieu van der Poel. Anyone know what happened to him this tour? I see some coverage earlier in July about "not having his legs," but was curious if anyone here knew more of the specifics.

His thinks he trained too much at altitude between the Giro and the Tour.

FYI: the Vuelta starts tomorrow. With a team time trial. Holy smokes.

I think I enjoy the Vuelta as much as the TdF. They always have tons of interesting stages.

Watching a rerun of stage 2 right now. Never watched it before.

I have it on the Olympic Channel via YTTV, how are y'all watching it?

What is the ranking of bike races? Is this Vuelta the bona fide #2 behind the TdF? What are the top say 5 events in a calendar year?
