The 0-fer in the men's 200 hurts a whole lot. If the 100 ends up the same way I could see us sliding several places in the final team score. We need to hit in every spot up and down the lineup to even have a chance to win. On a positive note, the 800 group looks incredible (I think we've got two NCAA scorers now) and James Smith looks as good as he ever has so that's a small bonus. I think Mpoke went out too hard early but will fix that in the final. With Burrell not looking 100%, I think Mpoke is the guy to beat. Two of the top three in the 400H would be big.
On the women's side, I would have liked to have seen Davidson at least in the top four, if not the top three. Not having Wilson-Perteete out there hurt too. On the plus side, Andress has a shot at scoring for the first time ever and the rest of the girls that competed did quite well either qualifying for finals or setting lifetime bests (which is all you can ask for).
