Both cross-country sprint events were really fun to watch. I like how they do all the heats and finals in 1 day.

Can we talk about Ester Ledecka. Two consecutive golds in parallel giant slalom. Impressive enough. But she also won the gold medal in Super G skiing in 2018. That seems like a ridiculous achievement to me. Like winning a gold medal in swimming AND diving. But perhaps someone more in the know can bring some context.

Shiffrin is sadly been a head case since her dad passed away in a ski accident in 2019. Can't fault her. That's so tough to go through. Hope she can shake this off and bounce back
I made this comment to someone earlier. She is rapidly becoming this Olympics version of Simone Biles. One minute, they are on top of the world in the sport, but in a heartbeat just seem to fall apart with no explanation and likely no recovery for the Olympics.wangus12 said:

It would be nice to see her recover for at least one event, but it is not looking good.

Sure hope they get her up off the deck and soon. Time to power through and be a champion. 3 more events for her. Those moments are gone; time to live in vision not circumstance!!
To her credit, skiers have longer shelf life's and is still only in the middle of her career barring an actual injury. She doesn't seem like the type of person who is gonna bail on the rest of the events.
