Why do the divers all take showers after they dive? It's the pool that dirty?

We have 2 boxers fighting for gold. Also, 4 cycling golds up for grabs, but I don't think we're favored for any plus volleyball and basketball. China has a boxer, rhythmic gymnastics, and cyclists too.

Crazy how Olympic boxing used to be HUGE, while this year I haven't seen a single second of it or a highlight. They ruined it with the S Korean Roy Jones sham on '88 and it's been all downhill since

Badminton is 5 with singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. I think table tennis is the same but instead if doubles they have "teams". I don't know WTF "teams" even means other than a way to juice the event and medal count

I never understood why baseball and softball got dropped. Given the love of the game in Asia and latin america, it seems plenty inclusive to me. It's america's past-time but we're clearly not dominant at it
