We are the only major country in the world that doesn't have government funding for out Olympic program, our least golds since 2008. As far away from home as you can be if you're from the east coast in particular, and we still came through.

Title 9 is great. Such a low investment for a such a huge payout in the US's soft power. That being said, NIL will allow new unprecedented heights in both track and swimming.
China being good is fun though. Its fun to have an enemy and someone to root against.
In terms of countries with good demographics to challenge the table going forward:
Sleeper is Brazil. They put up 21 medals on foreign soil.
The deep sleepers in terms of future medal table contenders are India, Indonesia, maybe Nigeria and maybe the Democratic republic of Congo. Of those India had their best Olympics with 7 medals. Indonesia had 5.
Its going to be a while before anyone catches the US. LA 2028 should be fun. Mu will only be 25.
I'm pretty sure "Rhythmic Gymnastics" only exist to have at the very end of the 2 weeks so that fans of the Olympics will think "yeah, I guess they are out of sports to compete, it's okay for the Olympics to be over now"

Artistic gymnastics is what Biles does. Is that what you mean or are you referring to Rhythmic gymnastics (with the balls, hoops, ribbons, etc.) which is what occurs on the last day of the Olympics?
Sorry, meant rhythmic. Although anything involving a judge is shaky anyway
