Kumar and Schachter were down 4-1 at #3 doubles but came back to win 6-4. There was a good racket toss by one of the LSU players. I think it was at #1 singles. It used to be that before a match point we would clap faster and faster. Did not hear that today. Did that go away?

How many fans were there?

For the doubles matches I would say the first 4 rows were fairly well filled watching courts 1,3 and 5. People were arriving well after doubles play started. The athletic department did not send out a tweet with an updated start time after saying it would be no sooner than 4 PM.

I had to miss the match. Any word on Hady and Carlos going forward?

Hard to believe we are #8 in the country, or were that high, and are 14-7 overall.

This is shaping up to be one of Denton's worst seasons.

The team usually plays well in the SEC Tnmt. Hopefully that will be the case this year also.

They need to get it together as the SEC Tourney is coming up as well as the NCAA's.

This was a tough weekend playing at 2 top 10 ranked team's home court back to back.

So they lost with him Friday and without him today.

Something about Aggie men's tennis, feels like they underachieve every year. Hope they get on a hot streak soon!

I need to know too. I assume 64 with host sites for the 1st 2 tounds. USTA center will host Sweet 16 and up. I plan on going again. They havent started selling tickets yet.

I thought they would go with super regionals similar to baseball. It was discussed for last year before the shutdown. Then 8 would be at Nona

Yes. He had been out for a while. He came back for a match. It was a few matches back but then was out again. I am hoping he is back for good. SEC tourney and the NCAA's are here!

I thought Hady looked pretty good on line two against Alabama. While he did not finish he was about to win in straight sets. Carlos seemed to be struggling a bit on line 3. All in all a good win against a top 20 ranked team. Team left for Fayetteville early this morning. Play Wednesday. Would be nice if we had everyone healthy and happy for the tournament

I agree Cory. I think Steve has every intention of staying here until he retires . This has been a strange year between COVID, injuries, some spectacular wins and head scratching losses. At the end of the day we are still in the top ten, and Steve thinks our best tennis may still be out there. We shall see.

Denton is not getting or taking the Texas job.. once Center got canned for his involvement in the admissions scandal they went interim and Burke won their first national championship. He got the full time job and will have it for the foreseeable future after winning a natty. If and when Burke is out - Denton will be at the end of his coaching career and is here until retires. Not long ago Denton got us to our first Final 4 and has consistently been in top 3 in sEC and top 10.

Yep but as aggies we are good with a final four for every 5 years and Top 3 finishes.

Didn't say he didn't have a desire to go to tu... just said he's not leaving to tu bc the job isn't opening and if it did they would go after Roditi. He's younger and better recruiter and was asst at tu. And he has great relationship with Del Conte from TCU. I know he's a frog alum but tu is much easier to win a natty than TCU bc costs and now facility. With only 4.5 scholarships state schools with lower tuition have a big competitive advantage. Not saying Roditi would leave TCU but he would be their first call.

I was thinking the same thing.

Perot won at #6. Other matches look really close.

Habib just won at #2 and Vacherot won his 2nd set tie-breaker to go to Set 3. Schachter at #4 and Rollins at #5 are also in the 3rd set.

Also, I feel so thankful for our court system and how we have so far less lets because of balls trickling through from court to court. These courts look comparatively awful to play on in terms of interruptions.
