I thought the tu players played with a lot fight especially at 1 and 2. A couple of different outcomes on one or two big points at 3 and 4 and the match could have gone either way. Much tighter than the 4-0 score indicated

I'll be cheering for the Gators to crush the bears today.

Mixed emotions on the ladies side. Pepperdine's coach, Per Nilsson ,coached my son and my daughter played for the Lady Longhorns back in the days. She was able to drive up to the match yesterday and hook up with some former teammates that also live in Florida now to see their match yesterday.

tu mens teams is young. Their #2 is a freshman and had alot of family at last nights match. I met his Great Aunt. They will be good for years to come.

As for the women, Pepperdine has 3 loses this year. Twice to the #3 seed UCLA in the regular season but finally beat them in this tournament. They beat #1 seed and was undefeated UNC last night. If they beat tu tonight, they derseve it! Would have beaten the #1, 2 and 3 seeds!

Florida defeats Baylor 4-1 to win it all. The crowd was crazy and obnoxious last night heavily favored by the home crowd for Florida. I was watching court 3 and the refs had to give a warning to a certain lady sitting on the front row about her yelling. Points would be given to Baylor if she kept yelling at the BU player.

Fun times! Great matches for mens and womens! Love the venue!

You mean point penalties would have been given to Florida?

I have no problem with fans being obnoxious to Baylor based on the Baylor fans I've observed over the years.

I think the Ags gave the gators their toughest match. Too bad we had to meet them in the quarters.

Yes. Points would have been given to Baylor.

Earlier in the week I saw points given when the ref overrules a player 3x. On the 4th I heard a game is given.

Just happy for Shelton, class act. And finally we have one in men's tennis, which we should have had forever ago. Also happy that we kept it from Baylor, I have zero respect for that school or Athletic department.
Was also cool to see such a pro gator crowd at a national tennis event.
And not that anyone here cares, but we field 21 sports and now have national titles in 15, so crossed another one off there too.

Vacherot was getting crushed in the round of 64 by Strom of Arizona 6-2, 5-1 but is fighting back and is at 5-5 in the second. He was down 3 match points in the last game.

While there was no official announcement, Carlos moving to TCU for a masters degree was a done deal weeks ago. He went with the blessings of our coaches. His leaving frees up some scholarship money for other players .

Up 2-1 in first, proceeds to lose 10 of the next 11 games. Not an ideal way to finish out. Looked like he ran out of gas somewhat.

Heck of a season, Val!

Agreed!

He didn't have to come back after last season but he had unfinished business. I wish him as much success as his cousin Arthur!
