The difference based on my understanding is that racing point broke a "sportsmanship rule" but the car is perfectly legal in terms of the regulations, where as ferrari was actively breaking the regulations

FIA admitted themselves they had no way to prove Ferrari had done anything wrong.

Racing Point was caught breaking a rule and gets a joke of a penalty. Racing Point was only 30 points off what they had in 2019 in 21 races through 6 races.

They'll still end up ahead of their total last year and teams have banned from races or excluding from previous results for similar infractions in the past

He's been living the dream the last two weeks

Hope that dude gets a drive soon.

Was great to see him whip Stroll like that

I'll think there will be seats open but not sure if Hulk will get one. He's a pretty known quantity though this years RP is a better car than he's driven in the past.

Well except for the car not starting last Sunday.

I really like that Max will be starting on the hard tyre.

I really like that Bottas took pole.

I really like how well Hulk and Ric are driving.

I really like how Sunday is shaping up.

Calling it

Red Bull pushes the hard and medium combo to one stop to make up for last week and blows a tire

Well good luck to Hulk. Perez is likely back next week.

12 laps in and tires are already a problem

Terrific race by Max and Redbull.

Mercedes screwed over Bottas with strategy.

Another great race by Leclerc.

Well played Max. Well played.
Haas is just pitiful. So disappointing.

Can't help but think RP gave Hulk that late pit for softs just so Lance could finish ahead.

Nico just said the tires wouldn't have made it to the end.

Great races by Max, Lec and Albon today

Vettel sounded like a child *****ing at the team about strategy when he screwed his race up literally lap one.

Plus he was mad about something Sainz caused by being in the box extra time

So, is Ferrari working to screw over Seb?

Or, is it Seb working to screw over Ferrari as much as possible?

Or just coincidence!?

Didn't see that.

Apparently Seb isn't holding back - at least not to German media. In post race interviews he more or less said the team pitted him to give Leclerc a free pass on him.

ETA : I didn't realize they boxed him after only 10 laps on hards. Yikes.

Ferrari and Seb are going to keep sabotaging each other all season and I love it. Really need McLaren to figure something out on the faster tracks, they just don't seem to have enough power to compete. Really hoping they can somehow find a way to finish 3rd this year and bring on Ricardo with lots of momentum next season.

I'd bet it'll be

Merc
RBR
RP

I imagine McLaren will eventually pass Ferrari and finish 4th but maybe Lec manages to hold 4th all alone this year

Seems like Bottas should be mad? Sure seems like Mercedes heavily favored Hamilton with their pit stop strategy.

Status Quo at Mercedes.

Bottas is there to eat up laps and listen to team orders

so the RP appeal by Ferrari, Renault, etc... I'm guessing they're upset the penalties were NOT stiff enough?

I've read a handful of articles, but I haven't seen any speculation on what they are hoping to achieve with their appeal.

Last night I bought an F1 Experiences Hero package for Canada next year. Has anyone purchased one of those packages and has any feedback? I've only been to the race here in Austin.

Enjoyed watching F1 the past couple weeks while Premier League is off season. The Netflix series got me interested and last weeks race got me hooked. Enjoyed the strategy and battle between Red Bull and Mercedes.

Yeah. Mercedes is definitely the dominant team the last few years. However, Verstappen is a strong enough driver that he gives Red Bull a chance at a podium or better every race. He is able to step up and take advantage when Mercedes makes strategy errors or are affected by weather.

Did not expect tire talk to make up most of discussion. Is that normal or are these races later than normal causing more weather/heat complications?

Edit: tyre lol
cap-n-jack

It's normal.
Ferrari is all but ignoring Seb. For all their money and pedigree they've turned into quite the **** show.
