Hard fall. Hated to see that...dude put it all on the line and came up about 300m short.

They're gonna be tough in the 4x400

Not a great race for Dixon finishing 5th in the 800.

I thought he ran OK...1:45.86 is close to his PR, though like you would have liked to see him place higher. He'll be tough next year.

At the indoor championships here there were quite a few records set. Happening at this meet also.

LSU's 2:59.59 is toast barring a dropped baton.

4x4 will be interesting. Don't underestimate impact of having to come back after running hard 400 and 400H. Morgan for USC was gimpy at regionals as well. Ags will run three fresh as will Florida.

Georgia gets 10 points in the HJ and looks like they will win the team title.

Georgia is locked in first. Houston would need crazy luck to overtake Florida for second. Both Houston and Texas Tech could end up in top four teams.

Aggies in 11th heading into 4x400. Looks like 6th or 7th is the best we can finish.

I thought it was a fantastic effort by the relay team. What has happened to Arky and Oregon? Arky finished 12th and Oregon finished 35. 6 SEC teams in the top 10.

Good call on Oregon. Terrible finish by their standards.

Great effort by the guys who were able to participate.

It's hard not to "ifs and buts" with our full team. I think - can be wrong - that 52 points is one of the lowest winning point totals in recent years. We were only 23 points behind without the 2017 NCAA javelin winner and at least a couple of really good 400 meter guys.

I agree about Oregon. Only 8 points with home cooking. Wow!

Hope Houston doesn't develop any field athletes.

I agree that if wasn't for injury we could have been in contention. John Kyriazis, Will Williams, Robert Grant, Mylik Kerley, Sam Hardin could have scored at least 25 points. Not forgetting that Audie Wyatt should have scored as well.
Really looking forward to next year. Maybe Michael Norman and Rai Benjamin may want to turn pro.

Considering where Mr. Henry has positioned our program, a 7th place finish is sub-standard; considering we had 8-9-10 guts get hurt, we did fantastic.

Growing up in So-Cal, I can remember going to Drake Stadium or the Coliseum to watch USC/UCLA. compete in duals. I'm thinking back then (late 60's-early 70's) each squad carried approx 30 athletes, maybe more. How many did we carry this past season?

Houston has signed for several good sprinters for 2018 from high school and junior college transfers
Jais Smith 100m - 10.23
Lateef Birk 100m - 10.45
Jordan Booker 100m - 10.66 and 200m - 20.70
Terrence Ware 60m - 6.63 and 100m - 10.19

We have only signed one sprinter Jake Lanier so far. Hoping we sign a couple of sprinter before August 1st

Tyra Gittens seems to be struggling. I hope she is not injured.
Hope she stay top three but it will be difficult because she is not good in javelin and 800m.
If she was near her best she would have been way ahead now.
Her shot put was 12.27m (12.81m), high jump was 1.72m (PB 1.86m) and 200m 24.83 (PB 24.01)

Shaina Burns also behind on her previous best

We have around 130 on our roster at the moment. Seems to usually be between 130-150 each year and 20-30 make it to NCAA's.

Hite fell in the 1500 about halfway through the race and couldn't put weight on one leg. Both of his ankles looked to be taped up throughout most of the competition. He looked pained throughout the competition. The kid is a warrior.

For those four guys to run 2:59 without Kerley and Grant is simply incredible. They all return next year (plus Rose and Tucker) and you add back Grant and also Jamal Walton to the mix. We could have two relays running 3:02 next year.

Triki will only get better. He joined the team at the semester break and managed to score in both the long and triple and won the triple. It's usually tough to get an athlete going when they join you halfway through the year because they don't always come in at the fitness level you need. He will be a monster next year.

Dixon turned a corner this outdoor season. He is dropping splits in the 400 that only a handful of NCAA 400 meter finalists are capable of. He's becoming one of the best 400/800 combo guys in NCAA history and he has two years to go.
