Can't score if you keep the puck in your own zone.

This is a solid core of young talent, so while that ending sucked, there should be lots of great hockey years ahead.

What a kick to the gut. We had this game in hand and gave it away. Microcosm of the entire season.
Hell of a run though. Good days are ahead, but tonight stings...big time.

Tough to swallow but still a good season for this young stars team.

From Twitter: tonight we drink, tomorrow we cry, and then we move on. Sounds like a plan.

I'm still a Rangers fan. I watched them throughout the 93-94 season. I sure miss Messier, King, and Richter. Would have like to see a Stars v. Rangers final.

Man, this hurts. I never expected them to win the series, but I was really looking forward to a game 7 as the third period was winding down.

I think the team will take a lot of confidence into next year after playing well in the playoffs. Nemeth should be a fixture of the the defense. I feel good about what this will mean for next year. The only thing that I'm really disappointed in is that kari didn't prove that he can be a difference maker in the playoffs. It's not all on Kari, but I just don't think that he played his best in this series.

Looking back, Cole's senseless interference looms huge.

Tough way to end an exciting series. Oh well, we'll get 'em next year.

Anyone have ESPN Insider and can summarize this? I'd assume the "legit second line" section is going to encourage us to sign Stasny?

Bob Sturm puts it all into perspective nicely:

Since I'm bored and in class here's my synopsis of the season and what we should take a away from it:

1.Lets all take a moment to appreciate what we were able to witness this season. We watched the rebirth of our beloved franchise starting back in last June with the unveiling of the new jerseys. Everything changed this season. New management, young players, new jerseys. The idea of the late 90s Stars is over. The team needed to move on and has successfully done so. Mike Madano night was the perfect passing of the torch from the old to the new. This team WILL make history in the upcoming years

2.All hate of Alex Goligoski needs to stop. Any critics of the defenseman should have been silenced in the last few months. He battled as hard as anyone else through the playoff push and in the series. I see him becoming our next Long term defenseman like Trevor Daley along with Nemeth.

3.Dallas fans are back. I think the team really hasn't had a home ice advantage during the playoff drought and some might argue since they left Reunion Arena. I was at the clinching game against St. Louis, game 3, and game 6. Those three nights were the loudest I had ever heard the AAC. The city is ready to get behind these Stars in the upcoming years and the AAC will soon be known as a place people hate to play at.

4.Jamie Benn. The organization couldn't have picked a better player and person to lead this team. Despite having no playoff experience he led this team through a season like none other and did everything possible to win that series. Given the 6 games under his belt, he can now lead the team even more effectively in the future. I wouldn't be surprised to see number 14 hanging next to number 9 in 20 years time.

Sucks I won't be in Dallas next year to see every game but I thoroughly expect this team to be competing for the top spot in the West within the next 5 years.

GO STARS

Good synopsis of the year. I was thrilled that we even made the playoffs, honestly. Would a win have been sweet? Absolutely! But... we had a team with almost zero playoff experience and we gave the number 1 seed in the conference everything they could handle. It was a step in the right direction similar to the 95 team that got the ball rolling back then. A couple pieces here and there (legit #1 defenseman and #2 center)and we have the makings of a true contender. As far as the fans go: Kudos. Loudest i've heard a Stars game since game 5 of the finals in '99. Games 4 and 6 were absolutely electric and Dallas finally has a reason to get behind this team. Also, the shot of the Aggie Ring late in game 6 was me

As in, the stars would have whooped the dog**** out of them and be feathering hawks now.

At least the Rangers made it.
