Denton and McKinley are solid coaches. They had a bad night tonight and so did the players. No need for any drastic changes. Stuff happens. Congrats to Baylor for showing up and delivering.

This was a very ugly performance tonight after winning the doubles point. It's really hard to beat a team as good as Baylor 3 times in one season. The NCAA really screwed us in seeding, otherwise we would have never seen Baylor. But the bottom line is that we were awful in singles and very uncompetitive, which really points to a lack of preparation from Denton. An extremely disappointing way to end a really good season.

The good news is that hopefully this will fuel the team's desire to get here quickly and then take care of business as a much higher seed. We return everyone and I expect we'll be ranked in the Top 5 all year long, similar to what Texas did this year. But, yeah, next year we need to see a Final Four appearance at least.

This is the only decent season we've had in years. And Sweet 16 isn't nearly good enough for the money put into this program.

Let's see what happens next year, but if it isn't a deep run, I've seen enough.

Well I don't see any reason why they shouldn't hover in the top 10 next year we've a solid team...

But this what dentons 4th year?? Bout time to start winning some conf champs and deep runs in the tourney.

Well, since you've seen enough, which apparently isnt much, then I guess we just need to drop Denton and McKinley after only 4 years.

Unless they can recruit a genuine super star, I wouldn't see us much better next year than this year. Maybe a 7-10 ranking. Still very good - as good as just about any tean Cass had. We're still a long way from a top 5 team though.

Top 5 is really tough to break into and stay at with the way the rankings work, and with the tough schedule that we tend to get.

For 2 guys that play serve and volley, AK and JD sure stunk it up on what I'm sure was a faster indoor court.

Some of you forget that even in the Cass glory days, we never advanced past the final 8.....

Denton and Mckinley have done a very good job getting this thing built back up. Shocking that we weren't even competitive in most of the singles matches. Crazy bad.

I'm actually not really surprised to be honest. Let's be honest, Baylor is still really good. Denton just didn't want to play his alma mater again and have to throw the match

what do you think the chances are that Austin goes pro and leaves aggieland?

He said last year that he was planning on staying all four years, but I think if he were to somehow do really well (not saying he can't, just a tough tourney to do really well in), like say the semis or finals or win it, he might make the jump. Otherwise, I think he will be back.

I think that Conor was better than Austin is now, and Conor hasnt done jack in singles on the tour. He has won some doubles, but doubles doesnt pay the bills unless you are top 50

Tough day for the Ags. Sad to say that I called this. Beating the same team 3 times in 1 season from a mental standpoint, and physical standpoint considering Baylor's talent- just wasn't happening for the Ags today. Got up for them at home, then again when gunning for a shot at tu in conf tourney. Just didn't have it today. Let that say what you think about coaches, but make no bones about it. This one is square on the players.

And just to make things even a little harder to comprehend, OU just beat texas 4-2, and they now face Georgia in the quarters.

Don't forget tu beat us 3 times this season.

Tech beat OU three times this season, too. It just so happens that Tech was unlucky and didn't have Carvalho for their second round match. That, and OU is peaking at the right time. I think most people will agree that both A&M and Texas are better than OU and Baylor. The Sooners and Bears just have all their players hitting their stride at the right time, and the Ags and sips didn't.

Really not too hard to explain. Both of our previous matches were very competive...really could have gone either way, but we were just a little better those days....obviosly not so yesterday, although I did not see the match and only going on what I have been told. We were so very close to beathing Texas in the conference tournament that you could almost touch it....they are a great team, but certainly not invincible....Tech is very solid, and Tim Segal does a good job in a tough situation. John Roddick has brought a lot of energy and some new guys to Norman, and I thought they had a real chance against Texas. I am sorry that the NCAA chose to pair so many conference matches in the round of sixteen. I am sure all of those teams would have rather played someone else, except a league foe that they had already played several times that year....oh well....solid year for the Aggies....much improvement across the board...we should be solid again next year, but with the emergence of OU, it will be another real dogfight in the Big XII.

AK would be making a big mistake to go pro. He needs to concentrate on getting a degree. He doesn't have a weapon or the athletic ability to make it on the circuit. He's a good solid top 20 college player but that's about it.

bigfoot, I don't see what the problem is with my statement. The tennis center was built to help A&M develop one of the very top national programs in the country.

And the return just hasn't been there. Baylor makes a deep run every single year. There is no reason A&M should not have a program that is capable of the same thing.

Maybe they'll turn the corner next year. But I said from the beginning it didn't seem like we reached for the stars when we made the hire four years ago. Just my opinion.

The simple fact of the matter is that we are phenominal team at home because the courts are very slow compared to everywhere else in the country. Because our courts are so slow, we are terrible on the faster indoor courts. If we had a decent indoor facility in which to practice we would fare much better.

To further illustrate my point, look at the championships last year that we hosted last year. Teams that went far in the tournament like USC and Texas both played us at home during the regular season.

We beat Baylor twice outdoors in very close matches. The difference between the two teams was from a lack of experience on faster courts.

I thought we were supposed to be building a new indoor facility??

We had enough from pledged donations to start work on it, but that fell by the wayside when the economy tanked last year.
