Wait a second. I'm still on the it will take off team but how does teh plane get any initial velocity? If the conveyor always matches the speed of the plane exactly, teh wheels have no chance to save the plane.

If you spin the treadmill fast enough such that the force of friction matches the thrust from the engine, then no, it won't go anywhere. Our conveyor belt, however, is only moving at the same speed as the plane, just in the opposite direction. For the conveyor belt to ever move at any speed, the plane must first be moving.
The question does not state that the conveyor goes fast enough to keep the plane still....that is where many of yall are going wrong. The conveyor merely goes at a speed equal to the planes speed which would NOT keep the plane still.

i'm still in the not taking off group until someone can show me a video (other than the skateboard one) on a large scale where this takes place.

Can I prove that it will take off by contradiction?
Say the plane starts from rest. Then it turns its engines on. For it not to take off, it has to maintain zero velocity in the inertial frame (if it can move, then it can move fast enough to take off). If it has zero velocity in the inertial frame, the conveyor belt must also remain off (it matches the inertial velocity of the plane). In this configuration, then, the engines will be on with NOTHING else moving. Not the plane, wheels, or conveyor belt. Unbalanced force with no acceleration. Impossible.

Let's confuse everyone a little more. 
Suppse the same setup except now the conveyor belt moves forward at a speed matching the speed of the aircraft. That is, if the aircraft is moving X mph, the speed of the belt is at X mph.

That video was retarded. They were pulling the paper backwards, which in turn makes the wheels on the skateboard go faster with the propulsion the fan was providing.
This thread flew righh over my head.
It's quite simply answered by the Telocity equation, gravity X speed X velocity....
