Even where there is an HOA, the space between the sidewalk and the street can be used for almost anything within reason as long as it is "greenery" related and does not impede pedestrians or motorists.

The planting strip is actually owned by the city, although the homeoner must maintain it.

That really looks like mt rosa and almagre in the background. Was the first pic taken around cheyenne canyon?

Ha no, we live in Colorado Springs and this is a walking trail around a lake in our neighborhood. That's Cheyenne mountain in the background.

Edit: i just looked up Mt Rosa and it's the peak next to Cheyenne mtn so you're probably right actually! I don't have all the peaks memorized yet.

We live in broadmoor bluffs.

Tons of aggies around. You can usually tell because they will be in a 4runner with an assoc sticker on the rear window all over the place because they are texting while driving on sh115.
