How old is the tripod? Do you give him any joint medication? I have one that is 10-11 years old and a few years ago he started to have joint problems and I've been giving him Cosequin every day since then and it works great.

Best guess is she's 4/5. Had her for a couple of years. She had a damaged let when I found her but it couldn't be recovered. She gets around ok right now but needs to lose weight

Old dogs can do what they want.

I let one of our old dogs get up on the couch and my wife says "why do you spoil him and let him get up there?"

She gets a reply that he's old and we don't know how long we have with him and I will let him get away with a lot because of it.
