It was a long day of softball at McCombs Field in Austin as Texas A&M dropped its Saturday opener to Texas, 2-1, before bouncing back to eliminate Texas State, 4-2. In year one under Trisha Ford, the Aggies have advanced to Sunday's regional final.

Coleman's walk-off single vs. Texas State opens Austin Regional in style
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Texas A&M found a way to send the ballgame into extra and allowed Aiyana Coleman to play hero with a walk-off single to beat Texas State, 2-1. The win sets up a showdown with No. 13 Texas on Saturday afternoon in the Austin Regional.

In an action-packed afternoon at Davis Diamond, No. 23 Texas A&M nailed a victory in the resumption of Friday night's contest, 6-2, before falling later in the day, 8-1. The Aggies and Tigers will conclude the series in Sunday evening's rubber match at Davis Diamond.
No. 21 Texas A&M softball battling to host in year one of the Ford era
Texas A&M softball has not hosted the NCAA Tournament since 2018, but that drought could end this year. With three weekends remaining in SEC play, Trisha Ford's Aggies are ranked No. 21 and fighting for a chance to bring a regional to Davis Diamond for the first time.

After securing a victory on Saturday, No. 21 Texas A&M failed to claim the series with a 9-2 loss on Sunday at Davis Diamond. With A&M scoring its only runs in the opening frame, Tennessee punched in front with a five-run fifth inning, and the Aggies had no answer.

Aggies plate school-record 25 runs in annihilation of A&M-Commerce
Behind a 13-run third inning, Texas A&M softball slugged its way to victory in its final game of the Texas A&M Invitational, run-ruling A&M-Commerce, 25-0. In a school-record performance, 12 different Aggies crossed the plate, and 13 different players drove in at least one run.
