On Monday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M Athletics as Sam Bennett claimed the 2023 Masters Low Amateur title, baseball and softball claimed their respective conference series and more.
Baseball (20-12, 5-7 in SEC)
Texas A&M went on the road this weekend to face Auburn, picking up the series after claiming Game 1 Thursday night, 9-5, and splitting the doubleheader on Friday.
- Jack Moss went 3-for-5 with an RBI, four runs and one walk.
- Ryan Targac drove in three runs on one hit and two walks.

A&M will face UTSA on Tuesday at Olsen Field at 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+ before opening up its weekend series against Missouri Thursday at Olsen Field at 7 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
Softball (24-13, 7-7 in SEC)
No. 19 Texas A&M won its first two games, claiming the series, against Mississippi State this weekend at Davis Diamond. The Aggies won 9-1 and 2-1, respectively.
- Julia Cottrill went 2-for-3, driving in two while scoring once.
- Aiyana Coleman finished with two RBIs
- Emily Leavitt (8-4); W, 4.2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
- Amari Harper scored on a throwing error after a Keely Williams single to tie the game at 1-1.
- Julia Cottrill hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to put the Aggies in front.
- Emiley Kennedy (6-3); W, 4.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K
The Aggies will look to sweep the series on Monday beginning at 6 p.m. on SEC Network.
Men’s Golf
Fifth-year senior Sam Bennett competed at The Masters this weekend in Augusta, Georgia, shooting 2-under par and claiming the 2023 Masters Low Amateur title. Bennett finished tied for 16th with the field.
No. 15 Texas A&M will host The Aggie Invitational starting Monday and going through Tuesday at the Traditions Club in College Station. The Aggies are set to tee off at 7:50 a.m. CT.
Women’s Golf
No. 5 Texas A&M will travel to Hoover, Alabama where they will compete in the SEC Championships from Wednesday through Friday at the Greystone Golf & Country Club.
Men’s Tennis (14-9, 6-4 in SEC)
The Maroon & White split its conference road matches this weekend, defeating Vanderbilt, 4-2, on Friday before falling to Ole Miss, 4-3, on Sunday.
Women’s Tennis (23-1, 11-0 in SEC)
The second-ranked Aggies completed the Mississippi sweep this weekend at the Mitchell Tennis Center, defeating Ole Miss on Saturday, 4-0, and Mississippi State, 7-0, on Sunday.
A&M won the doubles point, 2-1, before winning all six of its singles matches on the way to the victory.
Track & Field
The Aggies competed at the Trojan Invitational this weekend in Los Angeles, California. The women’s 4x400m Kennedy Wade, Tierra Robinson-Jones, Sanu Jallow and Jermaisha Arnold clocked a season and conference-best time of 3:26.58. A&M had 18 event winners while also setting 10 personal bests.
Aggie Dance Team
For the third-straight year, the Aggie Dance Team claimed the national championship in the Div. IA Team Performance competition at The College Classic at the Orange County Convention Center.
