Texas A&M right-handed pitcher Clayton Freshcorn has announced he will return to Aggieland for the 2027 season. A National Stopper of the Year finalist as a junior this spring, Freshcorn notched 12 saves and struck out 56 batters in 54.1 innings pitched.

An NCBWA Stopper of the Year finalist as a junior, Texas A&M right-hander Clayton Freshcorn was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 19th round of the 2026 MLB Draft. Freshcorn posted 12 saves with a 2.82 ERA and 1.05 WHIP as A&M's top reliever this spring.

The 2026 Fightin' Texas Aggies are represented by Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell, Clayton Freshcorn and Aiden Sims on the NCBWA's All-American teams. Freshcorn and Sorrell earned first-team honors, while Sims and Grahovac received second and third-team nods, respectively.

Banged up and bruised, Texas A&M remains among the nation's top 10 as the Aggies continue to fight for a top-eight national seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Next up for Michael Earley & Co. is a trip to Oxford for a top-20 series against No. 20 Ole Miss.

After tying the A&M record for saves in a season, Aggie closer and fan favorite Nolan Hoffman was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-America Second Team over the weekend.

Texas A&M's path to a return trip to Omaha starts in Austin, as the Aggies roll into regional play as a three seed. On Wednesday head coach Rob Childress and players Allonte Wingate, Logan Foster and Nolan Hoffman met with the media to talk about the postseason.

After struggling to hit with runners in scoring position last weekend against Arkansas, the Aggies came through in several clutch situations to take the series opener over South Carolina. Braden Shewmake went 3-for-4 with a home run and Nolan Hoffman recorded his twelfth save of the season.

Aggie closer Nolan Hoffman was called on to get five outs to clinch a win over Texas, including one in the eighth that was arguably the most important of the game. Hunter Coleman provided a crucial two-run single in the sixth as well that was ultimately the difference in the game.

The Aggies dropped last weekend's series to Auburn, but they won the Sunday game and handily defeated Rice on Tuesday to build some momentum coming into this weekend's home series against No. 5 Ole Miss.

Nolan Hoffman worked over the offseason to make big changes to his throwing motion, shifting to a "submarine" style. The change has paid off, and he currently sports a spotless ERA for the Aggies in 2018.
