Extension makes Morrison college volleyball's fourth-highest-paid coach

After winning the program’s first national championship at Texas A&M, Jamie Morrison signed a new contract in March.

That contract was officially authorized by the new university president, Dr. Susan Ballabina, on May 20.

Revealed via open records request, the title-winning head coaches' extension runs through January 31, 2031 with a significant bump in base salary.

Securing the five-year, $3,350,000 contract, Morrison becomes the fourth-highest-paid NCAA head volleyball coach. He sits behind Texas’ Jerritt Elliott ($800,000 base), Nebraska’s Dani Busboom Kelly ($725,000 base) and Wisconsin’s Kelly Sheffield ($700,000 base).

He was expected to make $305,000 in 2026, but now he will haul in a base of $650,000 next season. His base salary will increase by $10,000 every year.

During 2025’s title run, he made a base salary of $295,000, with plenty of incentives added on. The compensation for winning the championship was $75,000. Add on another $20,000 for being named the AVCA Coach of the Year. Smaller incentives came with victories over top-10 programs in the RPI and a top-25 finish at the end of the season.

In the new contract, it still remains incentives based. (The NCAA Tournament bonuses are not cumulative.)
