LOOK: Texas A&M's 'BLACK OUT' alternate uniform officially unveiled

For the first time since 2018's "1998 throwbacks," Texas A&M football will wear an alternate uniform.

And you could say the Aggies will be “Back in Black” on Saturday night.

On Thursday, the Aggies officially revealed a black uniform to be worn on Oct. 26 against No. 8 LSU at Kyle Field.

Message boards, rejoice.

First teased on Aug. 10, this represents the first time A&M will wear black on the gridiron since the 2015 "Aggie Nights" set (initially worn during the daytime). These are also A&M’s third all-black combo, along with the original black-out that debuted for the 2012 bludgeoning at Mississippi State.

On Aug. 14, A&M revealed the jersey and made it available for purchase the following day, but we finally have a look at the full set.

The jerseys themselves are very similar to the current Maroon & White uniform set, but there are some noticeable changes.

A bold "TEXAS A&M" dons the chest in white, but with the numbers, a silver outline highlights the large white numbers on the front and the back of the jersey. Additionally, venting holes can be seen in the numbers for improved breathability. This is a jersey element that Adidas introduced on basketball jerseys in recent years (if you look closely, Wade, Boots & Co. rocked a similar style last season) and represents a change from the Ags' solid numbers on the home and road sets. A version of silver-outlined-white numbers appears on the shoulders sans the venting.

Further, the Adidas three-stripe logo and SEC patch on the front are sleek-looking chrome for an added element of silver.

Looking at the lid, a matte black dome is adorned by a white script (!!!) “Aggies” logo, marking the first time this specific word mark has been featured on a football uniform. The helmet is completed by a black facemask and bumper. It’s a very sharp look, in my opinion.

The pants complete the black-out look. A dark, solid set with a white "Lone Star" logo on each hip.

Outside of the new helmet logo, this is essentially just a black version of the Ags’ current Maroon & White sets that we see on a weekly basis.

Additionally, a number of players have requested that the 12th Man join them in turning Kyle Field black on Saturday night.
