FULLERTON, Calif. – The No. 18 Texas A&M softball team split day two of the Judi Garman Classic defeating host Cal State Fullerton, 4-1, after falling to Weber State, 5-4, in extra innings, Friday night at Anderson Family Field.

Emiley Kennedy earned her ninth win of the season striking out 10 batters and going the distance for the eighth time in her ninth start this season. The junior recorded double-digit strikeouts for a third consecutive start, marking the first time an Aggie starter has recorded 10 or more strikeouts in at least three consecutive starts since Lexi Smith did so in four consecutive starts in 2017.

Texas A&M (18-2) was led by Keely Williams at the dish hitting 1-for-2 with a double, two RBI and one walk. Trinity Cannon and Julia Cottrill added an RBI each, while Cannon, Kramer Eschete, Amari Harper and Jazmine Hill scored runs in the first two innings.

The 18 wins are the most in the first 20 games to start the season since 2017 when the Aggies began 19-1.

The Aggies trailed 2-0 after four innings, before plating two runs to in the top of the fifth to tie the game.
