On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as men's basketball and women's basketball both continue conference play and the diamond sports get going this week.

Basketball
It was the best of times and the worst of times as Texas A&M basketball knocked off then-No. 6 Tennessee before falling to lowly Vanderbilt on Thursday.

The Aggies will take on No. 15 Alabama on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Women’s basketball
The Vanderbilt Commodores scored 10 unanswered points to upend Texas A&M on Thursday night at Reed Arena, 49-45. With the loss, the Aggies now drop to 17-7 in the regular season and 5-6 in the SEC as only five regular-season games remain.

LSU is up next on Monday.

Baseball
Baseball is back! Jim Schlossnagle begins his third campaign in Aggieland with a season-opening series with McNeese State. Tonight’s game is at 6 p.m. Saturday is at 2 p.m. Sunday is at 1 p.m.

Softball

The No. 25 Texas A&M softball team travels west to compete in the Campbell/Cartier Classic beginning Friday at 12 p.m. against No. 14 Oregon at the SDSU Softball Stadium.

Following the top-25 matchup, Texas A&M plays San Diego State at 5 p.m. to wrap up the opening day.

Action continues Saturday against LMU (1-3) at 12 p.m., followed by a rematch with SDSU. The Maroon & White conclude the weekend with a second bout against Oregon (4-2) on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Track & Field
Texas A&M track & field’s Lamara Distin and Ja’Qualon Scott earned SEC weekly honors following standout performances at the Tiger Paw invitational, the league announced Tuesday.
