The action never stops on the recruiting trail, and there has been plenty of it across the state of Texas as February signing day approaches, Junior Days pick up and decisions are being made. Let’s dive right in and take a look at the latest news, notes and headlines.

Big Gets

OL Robert Bourdon‍ flips to Texas A&M

2025 DE Lance Jackson‍ is a Longhorn

2026 RB Raycine Guillory‍ commits to Texas

2025 LB Brock Golwas‍ is a Red Raider

Headlines

Terry Bussey‍ sets his schedule – The final few weekends before the February signing period are here, and five-star Texas A&M commit Terry Bussey has a few visits on his schedule. He will take an official visit to Georgia on Jan. 26, an unofficial visit to LSU and an official visit to A&M on Feb. 2.

Kelvion Riggins‍ nearing a decision – Standout 2025 linebacker Kelvion Riggins teased his upcoming commitment plans on Instagram, announcing he will make a decision “soon.” He has been on college radars since before his freshman year, and he has reeled in offers from across the country. As Riggins looks to decide, his college future programs like Ohio State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Tennessee and LSU are thought to be in the mix.

Back on the market – 2024 Fort Bend Marshall S Josh Lair‍ has decided to take another look at his options. He signed with Washington in December, but after Kalen DeBoer made the move to Alabama, Lair asked for and has been granted a release from his letter of intent.

Making a move – A few top prospects are transferring to different high schools. Top 2025 DE Kamauryn Morgan‍ is moving from Red Oak to South Oak Cliff, while 2026 QB Legend Howell‍ is headed to DeSoto from Bishop Lynch to DeSoto. Standout 2025 S Elijah Pratt‍ announced he is moving from Mansfield Timberview to IMG Academy.

New Name to know

S Nate Tilmon‍, Mansfield (TX) Timberview – 2025

Checking in at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Tilmon is a rangy presence on the back end of the defense. He prides himself on his football IQ, which allows him to quickly identify and read opponents and play with a fast-paced style.

His IQ is not the only thing that allows him to play fast. He has been clocked at 4.53 in the 40, and he clocked a 10.9 100m at the 8-5 District Meet last spring. Tilmon also boasts a 34-inch vertical, and he enjoys the film room studying the likes of Sauce Gardner and Derwin James. As a junior in 2023, he utilized those abilities and tools to record 34 tackles and six pass breakups in eight games on his way to second-team all-district honors.

It also does not hurt that the game runs in the family. Tilmon grew up competing with his older brother, Terrell Tilmon‍, who was a three-star edge defender in 2021 before signing with Oregon. Terrell is currently at Texas Tech.

College coaches are taking notice. Offers have arrived from Arkansas, SMU, Tulsa, UNLV, Utah, TCU, Baylor, Houston and Texas Tech. Nate is also receiving interest from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Missouri, and Texas A&M. He attended TCU’s Junior Day on Feb. 13 and SMU on Jan. 20, and this upcoming weekend, he has Junior Day plans for A&M (Jan. 27) and Baylor (Jan. 28).
