On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as football garnered plenty of All-SEC honors and men's and women's basketball navigate their non-conference schedules.

Football
Ahead of the Texas Bowl, Ainias Smith, Edgerrin Cooper, Layden Robinson and Shemar Turner were awarded All-SEC honors on Tuesday afternoon. Smith was named to the First Team All-SEC as both an all-purpose player and return specialist to headline the list of standout Aggies.

Cooper, previously named to the 2021 SEC All-Freshman Team, also joins Smith on the First Team All-SEC as a linebacker. Robinson and Turner are included on the second team at their primary positions.

Texas A&M is represented by freshmen Taurean York, Rueben Owens and Chase Bisontis on the 2023 Freshman All-Southeastern Conference Team. This marks the third consecutive season the Aggies landed at least three players on the All-Freshman Team.

Men’s basketball
With a season-high 14 3-pointers (including 11 in the first half), No. 21 Texas A&M cruised to victory vs. DePaul inside the friendly confines of Reed Arena.

Ranked No. 21 in the country, Texas A&M sits at 7-2 entering a Sunday clash at Reed Arena with Penny Hardaway's Memphis Tigers at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

As a part of its partnership, Texas A&M Athletics and Molson Coors along with Revolver Brewing Company, will unveil a new co-branded beer – Block T Blonde Ale – beginning Sunday at Reed Arena.

Women’s basketball
With children from local elementary schools in the stands, Texas A&M women's basketball stretched its winning streak to six games with an 83-51 bludgeoning of Lamar on Wednesday afternoon. Five Aggies reached double figures in the victory as A&M improved to 8-1 overall.

A&M will host Robert Morris on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Baseball
Texas A&M baseball announced its non-conference slate to complete its 2024 schedule Thursday.

The Aggies open the season with an eight-game homestand highlighted by weekend series against McNeese (Feb. 16-18) and Wagner (Feb. 23-25). A&M’s first road trip takes place at Globe Life Park, against Arizona State (March 1 and 3) and USC (March 2). Texas A&M also hosts Rhode Island (March 8-10) for its final non-conference series of the year.
