Apex Performance of the Week: Dominance on the Diamond
Ahead of fall camp, we steer our attention away from football to baseball to discuss the recent performances of the Angels' standout Shohei Ohtani. We also highlight USA Baseball's U12 team for defeating New Zealand 43-1 in the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
David Nuño’s Performance of the Week: Shohei Ohtani
- We don’t have a lot of college stuff to talk about, so I’m going to go with Shohei Ohtani. In his last three starts, he is averaging 12 strikeouts a game. In his last seven games, he has seven hits and four home runs. He is on pace to challenge Aaron Judge's 62-home run American League record. He’s on pace for 400 total bases. No Major League player in MLB history has reached that tally since 2001. No American League player has done it since 1978. The Angels are making moves to strengthen their roster. Shohei is on fire.
Jared Shult’s Performance of the Week: USA U12 Baseball
- In the World Baseball Softball Confederation, USA Baseball’s U12 team won 43-1 to beat New Zealand. I don't how to react to it. I played baseball. I don’t know how you let it get that bad. What a performance.
