2024 Evangel Christian (LA) DL Gabriel Reliford commits to Texas A&M
The Aggies have nabbed an edge rusher from the northern part of Louisiana today as Shreveport Evangel Christian standout Gabriel Reliford has announced his intentions to continue his academic and athletic career in College Station.
The 6-foot-2, 255-pounder camped in Aggieland earlier this month and impressed in front of Elijah Robinson and Jimbo Fisher.
Overall, Reliford is the 12th commitment of Texas A&M’s 2024 class and joins Dealyn Evans along the defensive line in the group. He chose the Aggies over Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Arizona State and many others.
While not the longest guy, Reliford turns speed to power to generate his leverage on the edge. He plays with a good pad level and flashed quality short-area quickness during his workouts at camp.
Reliford owns an 81-inch wing span. When you factor that into what he does athletically, it’s not far-fetched to envision him growing into a quick-twitch interior defensive lineman. He’ll start as an edge player, but he reminds me a little bit of Albert Regis in terms of high school build and attributes.
