Winslow Township (NJ) receiver Jaylan Hornsby commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has gone back into the northeastern part of the United States for another verbal commitment in the class of 2024 as wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby‍ from Winslow Township HS in Clementon, New Jersey has announced his verbal pledge to the Aggies via social media today.

At 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Hornsby brings a physical outside presence to the A&M receiver room. On tape, he shows outstanding natural receiving skills and a knack for out-leaping defenders to high-point the football. He does a lot of his work deep down the sideline and over the middle. He’s a fluid runner with deceptive speed. His highlights remind me a little bit of Quartney Davis coming out of high school. You can view them below.

Overall, Hornsby is the 15th commitment of this cycle and the second receiver — joining Milton (GA) standout Debron Gatling‍. He chooses Texas A&M over Penn State.

Keep it here. We’ll have more shortly for our TexAgs Premium subscribers.

Isn't this our third receiver committed? How many are we looking to take?

Awesome get!

The other site has not updated overall team ranking since this commitment. They still show us as totalling 14 commits and ranked as 13th best haul so far.

For those who know how to do the math, with this addition and now at 15 hard commits - where is that expected to leave us after today in terms of team ranking?

I would think that A&M will use Miller at receiver so I would say that Hornsby is our #3 committed at this position.

Need 1 more in this class?

Makes sense. I know that there is some hope that the 5-star receiver from Alabama, Coleman, might consider bringing his talents to College Station.

It'll be interesting to see if he can become a complete receiver with respect to the entire route tree and gaining more situational awareness IVO the sidelines. Based on his tape, he is a 9-route and bubble screen guy.
Welcome aboard.

Yes, a certain WR named "Speedy", for one.
