College Station LB Chantz Johnson details decision to 'stay home'

Chantz Johnson‍, linebacker from College Station, has committed and signed with Texas A&M. The hometown product announced his decision on TexAgs Radio and went into detail on why playing in Maroon & White was the best choice for him.

• I would like to announce my commitment to Texas A&M University. I'm staying home. Gig ’Em.
   
• I would like to stay home because of the education here.
   
• I feel like College Station prepared me for the grind. Working out with my teammates made me a better teammate and brother. It prepared me for the next level.
   
• It will be amazing, especially for my parents. It started in the seventh grade when I moved here.
   
• My biggest get is my strength and speed. I feel I'm versatile. I can play off the edge. I will be able to improve in college.
   
• I know Daymion Sanford‍. I feel like him and I will click. We move very well.
   
• Right now, I am 6-foot-1, 205 pounds. I want to be 6-foot-1, 215 pounds.
   
• You have to be tough. You have to play with the mentality of running sideline to sideline. My dad, Jerry Johnson, was tough on me. When I didn't want to get up, whe would blow my phone up and make me get up.
   
• Knowing Jimbo Fisher and his family, playing for A&M has always been in the back of my head. Trey and Ethan Fisher are like my brothers.
