Key notes from Olin’s thoughts on Jackson
- McKinnley Jackson played all last year with a torn labrum. He’s a tough guy. There is no limb I won’t climb out on. Now that he’s healthy, I think you see some Justin Madubuike-type production from him. I think he’s explosive and tough. He showed us more as a freshman than a sophomore because he was hurt.
- He was out there fighting when he was hurt. With NIL, sometimes you wonder how many guys care about playing for their college. He went out a played hurt. He’s the guy with the potential for a breakout year. I think Devon Achane has already broken out.
- Who cares where the production comes from as long as it comes? There are questions about the pass rush this year. Don’t be surprised if Jackson picks up that slack. Who cares that it is from the interior rather than the end? The worst quarterback pressure is right in your face.
- I’m really high on Jackson and that he will have a really good year for the Aggies. He would have established himself last year if he wasn’t hurt. He’s on a Bobby Brown level too. I have no doubt in my mind he’ll be an NFL Player. A&M has put some good defensive linemen in the NFL. He will be another one.
- We keep hearing so many good things about the line. The list goes on and on. Its a cornucopia of defensive linemen.
