During Monday's edition of TexAgs Radio, Richard Zane joined to take us Around Aggieland and provided updates from the gridiron and beyond as it was a busy weekend for Texas A&M Athletics.


Football (7-3, 4-3 in SEC)
In a top-15 battle in Oxford on Saturday night, Texas A&M fell to Ole Miss, 29-19.

  • Running back Devon Achane rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Safety Demani Richardson recorded 13 tackles including 10 solo stops and two tackles for loss.

As a result of the loss, Texas A&M has fallen in the polls.

On Monday afternoon, Jimbo Fisher and select Texas A&M football players will speak to the media.

Texas A&M will be back at Kyle Field on Saturday as the Aggies host Prairie View A&M in their final home game of the 2021 season.

  • Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CT and the game will be available through streaming only on SEC Network+ or ESPN+.

Men’s Basketball (3-0, 0-0 in SEC)
The Aggies won a pair of games on the weekend, improving to 3-0 on the young season.

  • Friday: Texas A&M 81, Abilene Christian 80 (2OT)
    • Hassan Diarra’s 3-pointer with 0:00.9 remaining in the second overtime won the game. Diarra finished with 9 points
    • Andre Gordon led the Aggies with 17 points. Tyrece Radford contributed 15.
    • Filling in for Buzz Williams, Devin Johnson improved to 2-0 in his head coaching career.

  • Sunday: Texas A&M 86, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 65
    • Five Aggies scored in double figures as the Maroon & White outscored the Islanders 48-31 in the second half to cruise to a 21-point victory.
    • Quenton Jackson led the Aggies with 15 points. Wade Taylor IV contributed 14.
    • Sunday saw Buzz Williams return from a two-game NCAA-mandated suspension.

Texas A&M has one more home game before they head to Las Vegas for the Maui Jim Maui Invitational as the Aggies host Houston Baptist on Wednesday.

  • Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SEC Network+.

Women’s Basketball (2-0, 0-0 in SEC)
After having the weekend off, Gary Blair and No. 23 Texas A&M host DePaul on Monday night at Reed Arena.

  • Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SEC Network+.

On Thursday, the Aggies will host Stephen F. Austin.

  • Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SEC Network+.

Volleyball (12-12, 5-9 in SEC)
It was a rough weekend for Bird Kuhn and the Aggies as No. 7 Kentucky did not drop a set in a two-match season in Lexington.

Texas A&M returns to Reed Arena on Wednesday night as the Aggies host Arkansas.

  • First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. CT and will be televised on the SEC Network.

Equestrian (5-1, 1-0 in SEC)
No. 4 Texas A&M earned two wins over the weekend as the Aggies found success in the State of Tennessee.

  • Friday: No. 4 Texas A&M 12, UT Martin 8
    • Cory Cansdale earned Most Outstanding Performer honors in Horsemanship after defeating UT Martin’s Kate Davis, 79-72.
    • Caroline Dance earned Most Outstanding Performer honors in Flat, scoring an 82 on her ride.
  • Saturday: No. 4 Texas A&M 8, Lynchburg 2 (Jumping Seat Only)
    • Dance won Most Outstanding Performer honors in Flat, scoring an 89.
    • Kaitlyn Lovingfoss earned Most Outstanding Performer honors in Fences after defeating Lynchburg’s Jacqui Needle, 85-60.

It's a big-time meet at Hildebrand on Thursday as the Aggies host No. 2 Auburn.

  • The meet begins at 1:00 p.m. CT and will not be televised.

Cross Country
Running in the NCAA South Central Regional in Waco on Friday, but the men’s and women’s teams finished sixth in their respective races.

Julia Black and Abbey Santoro earned United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association South Central All-Region Honors.

  • Black finished 14th with a 21:13.4, while Santoro finished 23rd with a 21:33.0.

Swimming & Diving
The Aggies are back in action this week as they host the Art Adamson Invitational at the Rec Center Natatorium beginning on Wednesday.

  • Wednesday: Day 1’s prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. Coverage on SEC Network+ will begin at 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: Day 2’s prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. Coverage on SEC Network+ will begin at 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday: Day 3’s prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. Coverage on SEC Network+ will begin at 5:30 p.m.

A&M’s diving team will be in Austin this weekend to compete in the Texas Diving Invitational.

  • The meet begins on Thursday, Nov. 18, and will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Soccer
Seven Aggies earned Academic All-District honors following the 2021 campaign.

  • Lauren Geczik, Macie Kolb and Katie Smith made the team as defenders.
  • Kendall Bates, Kate Colvin and Taylor Pounds made the team as midfielders.
  • Ali Russell made the team as a forward.
  • To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, players must be a starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher.

National Signing Day
Many Texas A&M programs announced their full signing classes over the weekend.
