Key notes from Olin’s analysis of Chapman
- Caleb Chapman could absolutely be ranked higher when we redo this list at the end of the season. He showed us against Florida last year that he is an absolute dominant deep threat on the outside.
- He added the big-play element that the Aggies needed on offense. I won't say that his departure after Florida limited the offense, but it definitely took away a dimension from them. What else do you want out of a receiver that he doesn't bring? Big, fast and he has great hands. He also showed the ability to catch the ball in traffic. He just looks like one of those guys who will always be better than he gets credit for.
- I don't know who you double on the A&M offense with him out there. I think it's one of those situations where the defense will have to look at the down and distance, guess, and hope that they get lucky. I think we're past the "swiss army knife era" and Caleb Chapman is a smartphone. All his different skills are different apps that can help a team have a great offense.
- When Caleb returns, they will have so many different weapons to distribute the ball to: Demas, Ainias, Chase Lane, Hez Jones, who is great on third down. That's just at receiver. That's not even factoring in Jalen Wydermyer and Baylor Cupp at tight end.
