TexAgs All-SEC Team of the Week: Week 10

December 2, 2020

Alabama, Texas A&M, Missouri, Florida and Georgia all posted lopsided football victories last week.

In fact, the average margin of victory in their wins was 27.2 points. That kind of dominance does not occur without great individual efforts.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that those teams are well represented on the All-SEC team of the week.

Offense

Quarterback: Mac Jones (Alabama)

Jones, a junior, threw for 302 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in the Tide’s Iron Bowl rout of Auburn. He averaged 16.8 yards on his 18 completions.

Rountree gashed Vandy for 160 yards as the Tigers shutout the Commodores.

Running Back: Larry Rountree (Missouri) and Isaiah Spiller (Texas A&M)

Rountree, a senior, rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns in Mizzou’s rout of Vanderbilt. The yardage total was the third-highest of Rountree’s career. He is now second in school history in rushing yards (3,398) and fourth in rushing scores (34). Spiller, a sophomore from Klein Collins, ran for 141 yards and a touchdown in the Aggies’ victory over LSU. It was his fifth 100-yard game of the season, and he now leads the SEC in rushing yards per game (112.0).

Wide Receiver: Elijah Moore (Ole Miss) and DeVonta Smith (Alabama)

Moore, a junior, had 12 receptions for 139 yards in the Rebels’ Egg Bowl win, giving him a school-record 86 receptions this season (in just eight games). Smith, a senior, had seven receptions for 171 yards and two touchdowns as Alabama crushed Auburn. He has 12 touchdown catches this season, tied for the most nationally.

Tight End: Kyle Pitts (Florida)

Offensive Line: T Larry Borom (Missouri), G Ben Cleveland (Georgia), C Landon Dickerson (Alabama) C Trey Hill (Georgia) and Nick Broeker (Ole Miss)

Borom, a junior, returned after missing two games and helped Mizzou roll over Vandy as they rushed for 223 yards, had 603 total yards and were 6-of-11 on third down. Cleveland, a senior, and Hill, a junior, helped Georgia run over South Carolina. The Bulldogs rushed for 332 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 7.2 yards per carry. Dickerson, a senior, helped pave the way as Alabama rolled up 445 total yards in the easy win over Auburn.

Lia Musgrave, TexAgs
Leal played a big role in limiting the Bayou Bengals to just 36 yards on the ground.

Barmore, a sophomore, had four tackles, a sack and a quarterback hurry for the Tide in the Iron Bowl win. Leal, a sophomore from Converse Judson, was a big presence up front in the Aggies’ victory. He had seven tackles, a tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries as A&M limited LSU to 267 total yards and 2-of-16 on third down. Slaton, a 356-pound senior who was a five-star offensive lineman in high school, had seven tackles, including a stop for a loss, in Florida’s win. The Gators held Kentucky to 221 total yards, and UK was 2-of-13 on third down.

Bolton, a junior from Frisco Lone Star, had nine tackles, a sack, another tackle for loss and a pass breakup in Mizzou’s victory over Vandy. Houston, a junior who is a backup, had probably the best game of his career, finishing with a team-high eight tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss in Florida’s win. Johnson, a senior from Dallas Kimball, had a team-high nine tackles, a pass breakup and a pick-six in the Aggies’ dominant defensive performance against LSU.
