Katy Tompkins defensive end Tunmise Adeleye signs with Texas A&M

Texas A&M has landed the pledge of highly touted Katy Tompkins defensive end Tunmise Adeleye‍, who announced Wednesday evening that he will sign with the Aggies‍. The 6-4, 250-pounder has scholarship offers from just about everywhere in the country, but he ultimately chooses A&M over Alabama, Florida and TCU.

Tunmise’s long-standing relationship with Terry Price, who was the first coach to offer him a scholarship after one of Jimbo Fisher’s camps in College Station, was one of the driving factors in him selecting the Aggies. Adeleye becomes the 19th commitment of the 2021 class.

On tape, Tunmise, the 13th-ranked player in Texas in the TexAgs rankings, shows great power and energy at the point of attack, good tenacity in his pass rush and a knack for making plays in the backfield. He also has a frame that will allow him to add quality weight, which when paired with his athleticism will allow him some versatility along the Aggie defensive front. After leaving Houston to go to IMG Academy, Adeleye returned to Katy Tompkins due to COVID-19 concerns and opted out of his senior season.
