Course, we still have overthrower, inexperienced receivers, and a so-so OL.
Texas A&M ranked #13 in preseason Coaches Poll
With every glimpse of normal a welcome sight in a college football offseason that has been anything but normal, USA Today published the Amway Coaches Poll Thursday morning. The Aggies rolled in at #13 in the preseason poll.
Led by an experienced senior quarterback and a mix of returning starters and vaunted young talent on defense, many have anticipated a breakout season for Texas A&M in 2020. Prior to last week, the schedule fell favorably for Jimbo Fisher’s third season in Aggieland, as Clemson and Georgia rotated off. Those teams finished 2019 ranked #2 and #4.
The road likely became a bit tougher for the Aggies when the SEC announced it will play a 10-game, conference-only schedule as part of its effort to adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Aggies will now add an additional two SEC opponents and are still awaiting an announcement from the conference about who they will play and when.
Texas A&M is one of six SEC teams that landed in the top 25, including three in the top 5. Alabama is ranked third, Georgia fourth, and LSU fifth. Florida and Auburn also made the preseason poll, ranked #8 and #11 respectively.
