On fixing inconsistent play:

Training. We have changed up our training. The opportunities that we’ve missed or had, we adjust how we run the drills. Specific to that, yesterday it was ball control. But we’ve very consistent in executing game plan, but it has to be throughout the whole match. We didn’t show up in the beginning. Friday night, they finished. We ran out of subs, so it’s there. It’s happening. It’s just baby steps.

On if there was a “here we go again” feeling after dropping hard-fought early sets vs. Florida:

I think there are always experiences that will take you back, but they responded well going into set three. We came out and executed at a very high level and took back control of the match, so that was positive. Then, in the fifth set, you got to continue. You have to go back to the game plan and continue and finish.

On what changed for them in sets three and four vs. Florida:

Camille. I think she talked to them. They went out in the hallway. When they decide to do their jobs and execute the game plan and just really focus in on that, that’s what we’re capable of. They’ve shown that they can do those things, so now it’s just being consistent with that and executing no matter what the score is or what the moment is.

On Makena Patterson’s performance:

Makena is just solid. She’s a very high IQ player. There are just things that you don’t really have to coach because people just have a sense and a vibe. That’s Makena. She played at a really good club so she has that experience, and that’s what helps here in the games.

On the importance of the defense getting A&M back in the match vs. Florida:

Again, it was execution. It starts with the block and then the defense is able to play behind them and a clean block. It’s a system. When we’re in a rhythm and we’re working within our systems, we’re going to have positive outcomes.

On where the fifth set got away from the Aggies:

The ball control. Just the side out. We needed to side out and run points on defense, but we just got stuck passing and just small ball during those rallies.

On key to coming out of this weekend 2-0 vs. Mississippi State and Ole Miss:

Executing the game plan and trusting it. Trusting the game plan and executing.
