Junior linebacker Braden White selected as the Aggies' next 12th Man
Texas A&M linebacker Braden White is changing jersey numbers. He’s switching from 58 to 12.
White, a junior from Florence, Alabama, was selected Tuesday by coach Jimbo Fisher as the 12th Man. He replaces Cullen Gillaspia, who wore the honored No. 12 jersey for the past 39 games.
White recently graduated with a degree from the College of Business and joined the football team as a walk-on in 2016. Though he sat out a redshirt year, White was named the Scout Team defensive Most Valuable Player.
The next season he appeared in all 13 games at linebacker and on special teams. He posted 13 tackles with four coming against New Mexico, two against Auburn, two against UCLA and two against Wake Forest in the Belk Bowl loss.
Last season he appeared in five games on special teams and compiled three tackles.
The Aggies open the season on Aug. 29 against Texas State at Kyle Field.
