The sixth-ranked Aggies hosted Big East opponent Butler and American Athletic Conference opponent Tulsa during day one of action in the Texas A&M Invitational at the Aggie Softball Complex. The Aggies swept both games, taking down Butler 10-1 and Tulsa 7-0 to make it seven straight wins to start the 2018 season. Senior first baseman Tori Vidales lead the Aggies' offense with three home runs, including two grand slams and nine runs batted in on the day.

The Aggies beat the Butler Bulldogs in a dominating fashion to start the day. Tori Vidales launched two home runs in game one. The first inning was a foreshadowing of what was to come with the Aggies scoring three runs on four hits. The game ended 10-1 in the fifth inning thanks to a shutdown performance in the circle from Texas A&M freshman Maddie MacGrandle.

In game number two, the Aggies took on the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. Trinity Harrington was the starting pitcher for the Aggies and allowed zero runs on three hits. The perfromance brings Harrington's scoreless innings streak to 27 innings to start the season.

The game remained scoreless through the four frames, but junior Keeli Milligan scored an inside the park home run to make it 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning and end the scoring drought. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Vidales put the game out of reach with her third home run of the day and second grand slam to make it 7-0.

The Aggies look to continue their undefeated streak as they host another doubleheader tomorrow from the Aggie Softball Complex. Game one against Iowa starts at 12:15 p.m., and game two with Tulsa will follow at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed on SEC Network Plus.
