Stephen Kolek discusses Aggie baseball's full week, TCU rematch
Abby Kowal visited with Texas A&M starting pitcher Stephen Kolek after a second midweek game Wednesday night. Kolek talked about the busy week for A&M, his Saturday start against TCU, and more.
On looking to the weekend:
We just try to take the season one day at a time. During our midweek games, we really don't try to look too much to the weekend. We try to take it one day at a time and focus on these games and get our best approaches in so that when those harder games come, we’re ready for them.On the rematch with TCU:
TCU is one of those games that you can’t forget. We fell to them the last two years, so there’s a little bit of fire in our hearts there. I just want to come back and do what I can to finally get that revenge. My brother committed to go to TCU, but he ended up buying a house here, so I think that shows where his heart is.On the freshmen:
The freshmen are unbelievable. Everyone is playing great. We’re a young team and we’re still developing, but it’s nice to watch a lot of our young players really grow.On choosing Cody Jinx for walk-up song:
Unfortunately they don’t get to play my walk-up song as I’m walking out to the mound, but I love Cody Jinx. My brother introduced him to me, I’ve actually gotten to meet him before. He’s a great guy and is super humble in everything he does. I really like him as a person and as a musician.Never miss the latest news from TexAgs!
