Good deal. I reckon that Trevor is going to surprise some folks this season.

Notes from Olin's thoughts on Trevor Knight
- Trevor Knight has the ability, and although he didn’t play a lot last year, a senior quarterback will play better than a sophomore quarterback. He will not be put in a position to do things that he can’t do.
- Will Knight be an All-SEC player? Probably not, but he will be good. Texas A&M’s quarterback situation is one of the best in the SEC.
- He doesn’t have to be spectacular. If he can distribute the ball and make good decisions and play within himself the Aggies will be very successful.
- Knight is a very mature guy that has brought a lot of optimism to this team. He may not be the guy that is going to go win the game for you but he will be a good game manager that can spread the ball around and run the offense.
- Trevor Knight has played at a high level, but there is still some uncertainty. We will have to wait and see how he responds to adversity.
Notes from Stephen McGee's thoughts on Trevor Knight
- Trevor Knight is an upgrade physically on the field and also off of the field from a leadership standpoint. He undoubtedly has NFL ability. Our success will hinge on his ability to make plays, but the ‘between the ears’ aspect of being a quarterback will also be important.
- Trevor needs to be able to play fearless. He does not need to be constrained by what your coach says to do or by the situation. A true quarterback can play in any situation and in any offense and find success. If Trevor Knight can do those things the Aggies will be successful.
- If he can make the simple plays and do the easy things well, Trevor Knight will do well this season. There may be times when the Aggies win because of Knight’s play. He brings a lot to the table but there are still some unknowns.
- Quarterbacks have to be able to deal with the highs and lows and still be the same guy every day. You want your quarterback to be consistent. If Trevor Knight can show some resiliency during games after experiencing failure he will have proven to be a great addition to the Aggies.
- We have already seen that Knight is a leader, but the team needs to see him go through some adversity and prove that he can handle it. Trevor Knight will leave Texas A&M in a better place than he found it in.
Notes from Jimmy Wright's thoughts on Trevor Knight
- When it comes to an overall talent level, Knight receives a high grade because he's very intelligent and understands the reasons behind each specific drill in practice. He understands football and knows how to work against defenses depending on what they're in.
- Has a really good arm and an extremely quick release. Seems as if Knight has really worked on his accuracy with the ball over the summer.
- An added plus is his quick feet and his ability to get setup and deliver different kinds of footballs, as well as his ability to scramble in order to get the first down.
- The ability to have played games and start a whole season really shows in his leadership abilities and in his ability in getting the team lined up before the snap.
- Knight is a leader who is not only respected by the offensive players, but by the entire team. Just as Mazzone has more experience than the offensive coordinator before him, Knight has more experience than the quarterbacks before him.
Notes from John Harris' thoughts on Trevor Knight
- Knight fits into Mazzone's system pretty well. The quarterbacks Mazzone coached who are now in the NFL all were on point with their accuracy and had pretty quick releases. There will be a premium put on Knight's ability to get rid of the ball quickly and accurately in 2016.
- At OU, you could see his confidence grow both in the Alabama game and after but at some point, whether he got dinged up or whatever it was in 2014, it just never got back to that level for Knight.
- Mazzone has a running game component that can not only feature the quarterback, but allows Knight to use his skills to make that an asset in the offense. As soon as you've got that and can put SEC defenses on alert, it opens things up and allows you to have success and to keep the other offense on the sidelines.
- Knight could definitely benefit from a change of scenery, you saw it happen with Baker Mayfield when he left Texas Tech for Oklahoma. Knight will have a new voice and new vision to follow at A&M and that can help a guy who has been stuck in a certain system for a long time.
- Transferring isn't always the answer, but there are certain situations where it makes a lot of sense, and this is one of them where it makes sense on both sides.
- After Chad Kelly and Joshua Dobbs, the next spot in the pecking order of SEC quarterbacks is up for grabs going into the season. Knight has more starting experience than a lot of guys and has beaten Alabama (Chad Kelly being the only other guy in the league to do so), so he should definitely be mentioned among that top quarter or top third of SEC quarterbacks going into the year.
