Nick Choruby on making the most of opportunity, facing Yale
Forced into action by Nick Banks' extended injury, junior Texas A&M outfielder Nick Choruby's play has in turn forced Rob Childress to continue writing his name in the lineup.
After getting the game-winning walk against Houston Baptist, Choruby broke down the Aggies' strengths heading into the Yale series.
"My focus is just to set the table for my teammates. My job is to just get on base as much as I can and kind of wreak havoc on the bases when I can, so I try to make the pitchers and the defense think about me so that I can help my teammates get good pitches up there.
"At the same time, I'm trying to play the best defense I can to back up our own pitchers."

On his approach going up to the plate against HBU with two outs and the bases loaded in the 13th inning of Tuesday's 3-2 win...
"I went up there with an aggressive mindset. I just wanted to do everything I could to help us get a win. But really like you said, it was our two senior leaders — Boomer White and Hunter Melton — setting it up for us, so I was just fortunate to go up there in a good spot."On how he has taken advantage of playing in the outfield while Nick Banks has been out...
"I'm just having fun out there. I love having all my teammates; we all have a blast out there together. Obviously we are looking forward to getting Nick back, he is a big part of our success, but it's just been a lot of fun playing."My focus is just to set the table for my teammates. On how the team has defined itself so far this season...
"I think we have been really aggressive offensively and I think that's what we pride ourselves on. Having good approaches at the plate, scoring a lot of runs, we have done a good job at that so far. Also, our pitching is outstanding and our defense is great too. so we are off to a great start."On what the Aggies are focusing on heading into the series against Yale...
"We are just trying to stay within ourselves and not try to do too much. You know you are never as good as you think you are and never as bad as you think you are, that's what Coach Childress always says. So, we are just trying to stay within ourselves and continue to be successful."Never miss the latest news from TexAgs!
