COLLEGE STATION - It was Senior Day for the Texas A&M Softball team. Eight seniors were honored this afternoon, and those seniors played a huge part in the 8-2 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowgirls.

Nicole Morgan started off the scoring for the Aggies to tie the game at one with a solo home run. That was only her first RBI of the game. She picked up two more after singling in the 6th inning to score Cassie Tysarczyk and Amber Garza. Morgan also added two runs on the day.

Speaking of Tysarczyk, she had two RBI's and three runs for herself. Those two RBI's came on a home run early in the game to give the Aggies a lead that they never relinquished.

Jenna Stark got in on the Senior Day action with a home run of her own. This was her second home run in the same amount of days. This one was a three-run shot that extended the Aggies lead to 6-2.

Amber Garza and Emily Albus, two more seniors, both scored a run as well. Taran Tyler had some nice plays in the field. Even lightly used Kaydee Rayburn and Allison Garrett got in the action to celebrate their softball careers.

The winning pitcher for the Aggies was Rachel Fox, a non-senior. Fox finishes the regular season at 13-10, but pitched very well today. She consistently found a way out of jams throughout the course of today's game.

Coach Jo Evans was not available post game for quotes and questions because of the Senior Day celebration.

The Aggies have been officially eliminated from playing in the SEC tournament. However, due to the strong play across the board in the SEC, the Aggies still hold a good chance of playing in the NCAA tournament.

This was the final game in the regular season, so the Aggies are in wait-and-see mode now on when and where they will play next.

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the crowd today and how many stayed to hear Jo talk about the seniors. Jo had to scramble to find a way to get Kaydee Rayburn in the game. Good thing the other seniors got on base in the 6th to give her a chance to bat for April. OSU beat tu last Friday and needed to win both here to be on the NCAA bubble so these were decent wins.
