On the close win over Rice being a "hugger" in the locker room after the game…
"I was surprised that everyone came up to me and started hugging me. I was so happy that Kourtney finished down the stretch and we executed what Coach wanted. I said in the locker room that we are a squad and we are a team. We trust each other and play for each other and I was so happy with that. And yeah, we got a couple of hugs in."

On his game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds…
"I was like, 'Look, I have to come in and do something. If I can get an offensive rebound or make the pass to win.' That shot before the three-pointer, the clock was running down and he kicked it to me and I said, 'Hey I have to go make a play.' I just followed through and hit the show. And on the last shot, I'm not going to lie … I was a little nervous and didn't want to go into overtime with this team. A.C. kicked it to me and he had faith in me. I just knew to shoot it. I blacked out and I said, 'I'm just shooting it.' I didn't even look at the rim. I just shot it."

On being able to lead the team even better now that he's also making plays on the floor…
"Blake McDonald and I talk about tandem leading the team this year. He's also such a great leader, but when you're on the court and able to make big plays, guys actually listen to you. When [Rice] was making big plays, we huddled up and I just yelled, 'We are a team and we stick together through anything and everything. So let's stick together. Nobody put your heads down and we are going to win this game.' It was a bold statement but I just spoke it on a whim. I didn't know I was going to take that shot but luckily, Alex had faith in me and I was able to knock it down."

On Antwan Space delivering down the stretch, scoring six straight points to spark the win…
"On the [Space three], I got the ball with about five seconds left on the shot clock. I got it and kicked it to Space and said, 'Knock it down, dude.' He went and shot it with confidence. He's a heck of a player and when he turns it on and when he's serious, he's a real matchup problem."

On Davonte Fitzgerald enjoying a breakout night with 14 points…
"We told Davonte [during the game], 'Hey, Davonte … you're our best scorer. You have so much talent. Just breathe and relax.' Coach Kennedy talked to us and we were able to pick one word for the year, and his was 'relax.' So we told him to relax. He took a really deep breath and relaxed after missing early free throws. He knocked down a free throw and there was no stopping him [after that]."

I absolutely love the fact that he acted like he's been there before. Confident players do that, and he's come a long way. I'm looking forward to this propelling him to be the player that we thought he would be.
