Well, I don't wish the same for the Ags....I have to worry about what our recruiting goals are and how we can best achieve them, not who the Ags are getting commits from....especially if Tech isn't even in the mix with a certain recruit. If both programs were competing for the same recruit it would be different, but that isn't the case here.

well will you are a little more mature than I. I still wish to beat Tech and Texas every year and it starts with recruiting. I also wish someone would by Mike Leach off of you guys... hes killing us... I wish we could trade coaches

It's envy....maybe not on a broad scale (Tech vs. A&M) but on an individual level where you don't want a competitor to reap the benefits from an individual player that you like. That's the only way I see it.

Also, Tech's success has more to do with coaching than recruiting, if it wasn't then A&M would beat Tech every year since y'all have a much deeper talent pool than Tech does. Perhaps player development plays a role? I dunno. I just know that Tech has done more with less than any other team in the conference. I can't put a finger as to why, though.

I'm afraid Leach is there for the foreseeable future. We just need a good DC and things will really start looking up.....but I'm preaching to the choir on that one.

You hit the nail on the head. There is no doubt about it that Tech has been doing more with its talent than we have. Im afraid of what Tech might do if they start getting the better players in the state. Its not just Baron. The players that I dont know about... I just hope that yall dont get anything over a 3 star. In Barons case, I think hes worthy of more than 3 stars, hence the reason he is being contacted by Miami and Tennessee now and I really would hate to have him and his brother talking trash for the next 4 years if he goes to Tech

yea well I wasnt talking about the younger brother brandon, I was talking about the older brother who doesnt play football (plays music and is damn good at it) that goes to tu... they are great kids especially considering the circumstances they have dealt with... I havent talked to Baron lately but I hear hes gotten some tattoos... some say his head is getting a little bit big now that quite a few big name schools are after him.. I hope this is not true... Ill try to find out some things when I go to Midland and Lubbock this weekend

And no tatoos are not a negative thing but I wouldnt expect it so much from Baron and its not even that so much just what the tatoo says... which I will let him tell you if you want to know.

I have heart the same thing about the swollen head. I know his concussion the other night is not the only reason for it. It all began when the out of state schools came knocking.

It never ceases to amaze me that fans of something other than Aggie football come here and then scream envy when we talk about someone on the recruiting boards they're involved with and claim to not care what A&M does.......wait for it........WHILE THEY'RE CAMPING OUT AT AN AGGIE SITE. Gah...

Don't know that it will happen, but there's a very possible chance that Tech running back (yes, running back) Taurean Henderson will break the NCAA DI record for most points scored (by a non-kicker), and a better chance that he'll eclipse UT's Ricky Williams for second place on that list.

Don't know whether that will impress Batch (who was supposedly at last Saturday's game with fellow Tech commit Jamar Wall) but it does take away from the "Tech never uses their running backs" argument.

Baron Batch has never expressed any concern with the number of touches he would be getting at Tech. He never told that to anyone I know. About the tattoo - supposively he got one that says "Only God can judge me" down his right side.
The reasons I would see Batch possibly wanting to go to a school like Tennessee or Miami is that they have more potential to be in the national spotlight than Tech does IMO. They have a better chance at a national title IMO. They have been a little more consistent in the past IMO. They are in interesting places IMO and have good fans IMO.
Why Batch is thinking about those schools over Tech?

nothing wrong with it at all; just a little uncharacteristic of him I thought - apparently not, hes still a great ball player, just hope he keeps his head where it should be because thats one of his best characteristics IMO

Just watched the Midland Lee playoff game. Hines did not even suit up. From talking to a teacher at Lee, sounds like he was kicked off the team for discipline problems. McCoy has lots of potential. Ray was ok, but not dominant.
