Texas looked really bad 1st and 3rd sets. Is Swindle really their 3rd best setter? They are getting brutalized defensively when their other setter is in the front row.

I'm not a fan of indoor VB being played outside. Is that not what beach VB is for?

However, Might be better playing there than at Purdue without their AC.

It got suspended. If it gets played later (doubtful) it won't be at Wrigley.

This should have never been scheduled at night. The first match was "ok" but as soon as sun went down moisture issues all over the place. That was extremely dangerous and it should have stopped earlier - there were slips on pretty much every point, and players were kind of shuffling around to avoid getting hurt.

Don't think DBK will ever agree to another outdoor event. Concept was awesome. As an old, I'll offer this quotation from a certain margarine commercial. "You don't mess with Mother Nature."

I had a similar thought that a bunch of~20 year olds got hung out to dry by grown adults, and they ended up making the best of the situation.

That game got messy and they were right to cancel it. That said, interest in volleyball is blowing up and on the cusp of making a generational leap forward in popularity and support. So, I do understand and appreciate the efforts/willingness by top teams to promote the sport at this time through these exhibitions. Nebraska has to play a key role in that collective effort as the current marquee program and they have not shied away from doing so.

Now….player safety is priority and that Wriggly game will have folks rethinking how to go about things. Only indoor stadiums should be used for what are now obvious reasons.

TLDR: Love the promotion of the sport, but must find better/safer venues.

Kentucky up 2-1. Eyeball test these teams aren't that close but KU has given Vandy 17 points on service and attack errors so far.

Only watched the 3rd set but neither of those teams looked particularly close to our level from what I saw. Both had some pretty bad errors in serve receive, though Georgia did have some pretty scrappy digs.

Some of these Kentucky swings are so heavy! It's impressive to watch.

Kentucky has almost all starters returned - it's impressive Vandy is hanging with them. They lost Hudson but picked up Gaerte who is a beast at Opposite.

I haven't had the chance to watch much of Vandy yet, but they've been getting pretty good results so far! I think they're currently projected to finish in the top 16 of RPI too. I know their coach is held in high regard, so I guess they're starting to figure it out!

I watched their game against Kentucky last night and was impressed with the way they played. They're very scrappy and have a couple of really great servers. Kentucky is very good and they will be tough to beat, but it can be done.
